Tonsillitis in early pregnancy

Hi,

I’ve just found out I’m around 4-5 weeks pregnant and I’ve got tonsillitis- chills, fever, yellow spots on my tonsils, swollen neck.

My dr has prescribed me antibiotics and I’ve been taking paracetamol.

I stupidly googled it and it’s made me worry about miscarriage and possible birth and development issues.

Has anyone had tonsillitis in pregnancy and does it cause any issues?

I got tonsillitis when I was pregnant with my second, I was really nervous was was only around 5/6 weeks I think.
I told the doctor, they gave me antibiotics and assured me they were perfectly safe during pregnancy and I had no problems whatsoever.
Get well soon! (And happy pregnancies!)
