Hi
I found out I was pregnant over Christmas and according to last period I'm 6 weeks today (I did have some doubt as I'm already showing)

Had an early scan as I really thought I was further on but the scan showed I am even earlier possibly 4.5 to 5 weeks she said. There is a sac but no baby or heartbeat (yet???) ... I've been told to go back in 3 and half weeks but I'm so worried.

I know it's early and maybe I'm worried over nothing ... I am pregnant and I'm showing but I'm so scared it's not going any further and wondered if anyone's had anything similar

Is there anything else I can do? Not sure how I will cope for 3+ weeks?

I had an early scan at 6 weeks and the nurse said to not be alarmed if we didn’t hear the heartbeat as it was still early. We did hear it but we hadn’t expected to as it’s normal not to at 6 weeks.

I know it’s hard but try to stay positive xx

Thanks they also think I'm earlier than 6 weeks .. maybe ovulation was off ...

I think I expected to see something but maybe just seeing the sac is normal at 5 weeks (what they think I am)

If could go either way really. In my own experience, we had a scan at the EPU at what we thought was 6 weeks and only had a gestational sac and no embryo. We were told we could have ovulated late and to come back in 2 weeks for a re-scan but miscarried around a week later. However I've heard of many many people in the same situation who had simply ovulated a week or 2 after they thought, and went back to find a perfectly healthy embryo with a heart beat.

It's really not possible to be sure at the stage, but I do hope things work out for you. In our case, it was devastating to miscarry, but we concieved again straight away and are now nearly 30 weeks. Even if things don't go as planned this time round, try to remain positive.

I feel like I just need to know as soon as possible really .. the waiting is the agonising bit xx

This happened to me with a scan about the similar amount of weeks. I went back a couple of weeks later and there was a heartbeat. Nothing you can do but wait unfortunately. Be reassured that everything is as expected at this stage in the pregnancy.

Happened to me, I went at 6 weeks exactly and doctor said it was measuring 5+1 no heart beat ... considering my husband was in France at that time I was sure she was wrong on the dates and the baby wouldn't grow. He did, he's now 7 nearly. ❤️🥰
I reckon ovulated later and sperm (at least 1 anyway lol) lived a long time inside my uterus

I just went for an early scan last week. I thought I was 7 weeks but the lady told me I was 5 to 6. There was a gestational sac and a yolk sac. She marked down a possible fetal pole but only measured 2mm. I go back a week tomorrow. I feel your pain but I do think it's normal.

@user1474623337 I went for a scan at 6+2 after a bleed. I was really worried as my previous pregnancy had ended at 12 weeks (MMC). The sonographer dated me at 5 weeks and couldn't see a heartbeat. I honestly thought I was heading for another miscarriage. My nearly 6 month old DD is currently asleep in her cot! Smile

Thanks everyone, i feel like i am on a rollercoaster.
When I went to bed last night i had very light pink spotting when I wiped. Obviously paniced and overnight it turned into bleeding. I called 111 and saw a doctor this morning who booked me into the EPU on Tuesday - he said not to loose hope as the scan was too early for a heartbeat and bleeding doesnt have to be a miscarriage.
Ive been clinging to hope all day and the bleeding is reasonably light although it is red blood not spotting. This afternoon I think I miscarried as got a clot but we wont know for sure until Tuesday. Also the bloating that was giving the game away seems to have gone down a bit too.

So all in all my chances and hopes are fading but we will see Tuesday - I guess there are examples of bleeding with clotting and there still being a baby there but they are few and far between. I am coming to terms with it being a miscarriage i think xxx its the waiting that is so frustrating Id rather know and be able to handle it whereas I keep thinking 'what if' and then stopping myself!!

xxx

Hope you haven't misscarried. Spotting early on is very common. Also was your scan internal? That could also have set off a bleed. If you have misscarried then be kind to yourself, & know that you will be very fertile afterwards if you feel physically and emotionally ready to try again quickly afterwards.

Thinking if you x

I went and was 5.5 weeks and no heartbeat, they told me to come back at 7 weeks and there was. :)

LittleDoveLove · 06/01/2019 23:15

P.s Try not to worry OP stress isn't good for you, I am sure everything will be OK for you :)

user1474623337 · 07/01/2019 00:53

Thanks I'm pretty sure it's a miscarriage I'm bleeding heavily now but will wait til tomorrow to be certain before we give up on it completely ❤️
