Head no engaged - is there anything I can do to help?

I'm 37 + 3 and just been to see midwife. Baby's head is still high. This is first pregnancy and she said normally head's engage from 35 weeks plus, she wasn't overly concerned but did comment that the baby was misbehaving by not engaging!

Is there anything I can do to encourage baby to drop?

Dd2's head was high until i went into labour, yes first babbies do normally engage earlier (dd1's engaged at 32 weeks) but some dont until labour.

my dd didn't until i went into labour.had a check day before at 40+4 and it was free

i was told to do a lot of 'squatting' sort of moves. ie. squat quite low, legs far apart, lean on chair/sofa - try to open pelvis up...

i'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon...

or bounce on ball?

I remember having a check up at 36 weeks and told "baby's head is still very high, still not engaged, we'll book you in for another check up in 4 weeks".........

I gave birth 6 days later, very quick and eacy and my 2nd was the same.....Had didn't engage until I went into labour.....then shot down the old pelvic birth canal like a helter skelter !!!!!

My baby's head wasn't engaged at 40+6. I went into spontaneous labour 2 days later.

scubes.. my ds ( who was baby number 2) stayed free until 20mins before he arrived.. ( pregnancy number one was a footling breech so never engaged..)

Tryt sitting ona birthing (gym) ball with your legs apart and bounce..

I have been doing this and dont know if it is a coincidence but I am 2/5th engaged, with number 3. ( 37+5)
