Dentists while pregnant

I have one of those certificate thingies that entitles you to free dentistry while pregnant.

But I cant find anyone who will take it. I have tried the NHS listings, but the local dentists listed as taking Charge Exempt Adults - which surely this is - say they dont take maternity patients. One said it was not in their contract. Any ideas?

NHS Direct should be able to give you some contact details.

Thats strange.

I had a private dentist in my first pregnancy and there were no problems and then an NHS for my last baby and this one.

if you cant find a dentist then call NHS direct. dentists are not obliged to take nhs patients, pg or not unfortunately
