Hello!
Does anyone have babies due in May 2019? I thought it might be nice to start up a bit of a support group for the 2nd and 3rd trimester in pregnancy and to help support when babies are here!
Anyone else experiencing back pain? Sitting is becoming uncomfortable, yet standing is fine! X

Me! I'm due the 13th May and have notified the past week or so I'm getting uncomfortable sitting and even in bed getting a sore back. As you said it's fine standing up. I'm not complaining too much as my pregnancy has been pretty straightforward so far. Do you know the sex of your baby?

AprilRose4 · 04/01/2019 10:09

Hi Scottay! I’m due May 10th. I’m pleased I’m not the only one experiencing this. I’ve found hot water bottles a god send. Have you found anything that really works? We didn’t find out the sex. Have you?

@AprilRose4 I'm also due May 10th :) how exciting!!! I'm super stiff and sore and I work in a nursery so getting up and down from the floor all the time is starting to be a problem. It never was when I had my son though which is frustrating. We're having a girl this time xxxx

AprilRose4 · 04/01/2019 13:25

Same day, that’s exciting! I’m not sure what I’m having but I suspect a boy, not sure why!
Oh no, do you intend on working until May? I’m due to finish mid April to give me some time off before.
Have you had any other problems in this pregnancy? So far I’ve been quite lucky but have felt sick unless I eat constantly haha! X

I've been in the bath every night trying to ease my back, only been having them warm but does seem to help. I didnt find out the sex. Have either of yous started buying anything yet?

HarrietB90 · 06/01/2019 22:25

Hey everyone! I’m due with my first baby May 3rd so only 16 and a bit weeks to go! I found out before Christmas that it’s a girl!! Weird because I just had a feeling although I know it was a 50/50 chance!

@AprilRose4 my back is starting to getting really painful, especially sat or laid down for long periods. Been having lots of baths and got a huge U-shapes pillow which takes up half the bed but does make a difference!

Has anyone else been sorting out maternity leave with work? How long are you all having off before your due date? I’m going to finish on the 5th April but take a weeks holiday before my maternity leave officially starts and I’m worried that’ll be too long, especially if baby decides to go overdue! But I do like the thought of lots of time to relax/sort last minute bits and pieces/get the house in order!

@Scottay - everything I’ve got so far is second hand! Cot, pram, baby bath and car seat are coming from my sister. Aldi baby event is starting on Thursday though so might nip there next weekend to stock up on a few bits and pieces!! Baby room is still a total mess though so that needs doing ASAP!

AprilRose4 · 07/01/2019 06:53

I’ve heard about these pillows so may invest in one! Baths have been a godsend too and I always have a hot water bottle when I’m at home.
Like you, we’ve been given a few bits but only now are we starting to think about buying bits we may need. My sister in law sent me a really good list of things you need or don’t need, if anyone wants me to whatever it with them?
Congratulations on having a girl, girl clothes are so sweet. I just have a feeling I’m having a boy, but will be happy either way!
I too am leaving work on the 5th April as I work in education so it just makes sense. How long do you plan on having off?x

@scottay aren’t baths the best?! We’ve started looking at buying bits, have you got anything yet?x

The pillow is great - I really recommend it especially if you’re struggling with your back!
Aw congrats on your little boy - have you been thinking of names? So many lovely boys names around at the moment!

I’m going to be off hopefully until March 2020 (feels weird saying that!!) then using some annual leave at the end to top up and have a paid month before I go back to work. Those unpaid months are going to be a bit of a belt tightening time I think 😂 what about you, have you decided how long you’ll be off for?

A list would be amazing if you could share! Is good having things in the back of your mind when you’re out shopping especially with sales being on at the moment!

Have you signed up for an NCT or antenatal class? I’m still in two minds whether to go to one or not!

Scottay · 07/01/2019 21:11

Oh I just typed up a whole message and hit the back button 🙄

I might buy a pillow but not sure my bumps big enough to need one yet, though I did notice today my bum is getting huge 😂

I've started picking up wee bit and pieces now and looking at prams. @harrietb90 I picked up a few things in the Aldi baby event, It's online now. Thanks for that.

I've not signed up for any classes yet but I will be since this is my first. Are you all feeling plenty of movement now, I don't really during the day but in morning and night I do. I found it so odd to start with, almost painful but used to it now

HarrietB90 · 07/01/2019 21:37

I started using the pillow from about 18 weeks because I was sleeping really badly and was willing to try anything at that point! I do think it's helped and stopped me flipping it onto my back in the night. And to be fair my bump has massively expanded over the last few weeks - I got back to work after Christmas and everyone has been commenting! I feel like I actually look pregnant now - not just like I've got a big spare tyre around my middle!

Glad you got some bits from the Aldi event, I'm going to order some too, I didn't realise Aldi sold online so that's even better! What did you get?

My sister recommended hypnobirthing - she said that she found that as useful as some of the NCT stuff. I've been doing pregnancy yoga since I was about 12 weeks which has been really good too!

Yeah I've been getting the same as you @Scottay lots of movement at night and early in the morning (tends to be when I'm lying down to go to sleep!!). Someone told me it's because when you're up and about in the day it rocks the baby to sleep so they're more active when you're stiller. It was so hard to tell at first what was a movement or not but now she's definitely kicking and it really takes me by surprise! I think it's felt a lot more real now!

How's everyone been finding their midwife appointments? Has anyone got their baby room sorted yet (please say you're as disorganised as I am with getting anything done Grin)

Scottay · 11/01/2019 20:15

I might get a pillow then, I've been sleeping better past few nights and I've always slept on my back, thankfully that's not something else I've have to deal with. Haha I feel like my bumps gotten so big past week or so, I was at the airport yesterday going through checks and the security guard commented on my 'condition' never heard pregnancy called a condition before 🤣

I actually just picked up wee bits and pieces like blankets, towels etc. I think I'm going to start properly buying in the next few weeks .

Pregnancy yoga is meant to be really good for birthing too is it not?

I've only had two midwife appts so far, both non eventful. I have my 24 week one in two weeks so hopefully that's more insightful. How have yours been?

I'm having a nightmare re baby room as I'm currently selling my property (fingers crossed it's sold baby is here) not end of the world if not but just feel it would be easier moving pre baby.

How's everyone feeling? I'm so glad it's the weekend!

seeingdots · 11/01/2019 21:49

AprilRose4 · 12/01/2019 07:07
