Harmony - gender

For those who have had the harmony test, I believe you can choose only to find out the gender if testing for those chromosones has to reveal it? We really want to keep it a surprise but worried they will accidentally reveal the gender even if everything is ok chromosome wise.

I had the harmony test and they only told me everything was okay, I didn’t ask about the gender and they didn’t mention it.

I had the Harmony test done 6 years ago, and there was no mention of baby's sex on the printed results. I had a preliminary call from the clinic prior to receiving the letter and they didn't reveal the sex then either. They do realise that people feel strongly about this and do take care not to slip up. Good luck!

Yes - you are given the option of whether you want to know the sex and whether you want them to test for sex chromosome disorders. We didn’t want to find out the sex but had the testing for sex chromosome disorders.

When we had the harmony test done, we were asked if we wanted them to find out the sex or not. If we hadn't wanted to know, it wouldn't have been recorded anywhere for us to find out.

I’ve had the harmony test twice and they always ask if you want to know before they even send the test off for the results so you can keep it as a surprise.

Don’t look too closely at your scans though - ours was obvious!

I had the harmony test. The results of this were shown on the written report. However, there is a box to tick/not tick when filing out the form with your blood test - asking if you want to know the gender or not.
