Hi everyone 😊 I'm 37+3 and being induced today as I have GD and baby hasn't grown a lot in 2 weeks. This is my first baby & I don't know what to expect! Someone please give me a positive story!! 🤣🤣

Good luck! Take lots of things to keep you occupied as it could (but hopefully won't) be a long process. People often expect it to happen the same day, when in reality it could take a good couple of days. Then there's the risk of the hanging around waiting for a space to become available on delivery suite once they're ready to break your waters. Not being a misery but I'm a midwife and often I think people don't quite get that it can be a long, boring process! Fingers crossed it's quick for you and you're cuddling your baby very soon. Thanks

Yeh I agree lots of things to keep you busy as IME induction is a long process.
Good luck.

I'm due to be induced in a couple of weeks (if baby doesn't make an appearance before then) so commenting to show solidarity Grin

Keep us updated OP.

Also in for an induction :) first pessary didn't work for me unfortunately so just had second put in but it's different for everyone. Another lady went from pessary to giving birth within a few hours! Process so far has been uncomfortable but not painful, ward staff have all been lovely and food surprisingly decent. Definitely bring plenty of entertainment and I also recommend earplugs and snacks for you and partner if they're with you! All the best @rosegeorgia21 xx

Turns out they can't start the process until 10pm as I've been getting treated for dvt and injecting Clexane twice daily so need it to be completely out of my system. Wish they would have told me this before I came in at 1.30 😒 @Starsong82 good luck to you to! 🥰 Hows it going?

Oh no, how frustrating for you @rosegeorgia21 !
Nothing happening here as yet, all I can do is wait! Have already done a few laps of the hospital grounds and had a good old bounce on a birthing ball as per midwife instructions :)

randomsabreuse · 03/01/2019 18:31

Definitely take things to do. I did cross stitch, crochet and half a Lego car at mine.

rosegeorgia21 · 04/01/2019 02:38

@Starsong82 any baby yet?? I had the pessary put in at 10 and am already contracting quite strong so hopefully won't be to long before i meet my little man! Hope it's going ok for you. Xxx

@rosegeorgia21 still no baby but also getting strong regular contractions, not enough to move me from ward to delivery suite yet but also nothing I can sleep through as suggested by midwife! Fingers crossed we'll both be meeting our little ones soon! xx

rosegeorgia21 · 05/01/2019 08:09

@Starsong82 tell me about it. Nothing has even kicked off yet had bad contractions but they've eased now :( takes so long. Hope you have your little one with you 💕

@rosegeorgia21 had my little boy yesterday evening :) 2nd pessary softened everything up enough they were able to break my waters and then had the drip which really got things going! Hopefully things will get moving for you soon xx
