Could i be pregnant after my abortion?

Hi all just wondering if anyone has any insight/opinions on this... I had an abortion last month (surgical at 13 weeks). They told me the day of my abortion would be the first day of my cycle and I should get my period 4 weeks later (28 days) (I am ALWAYS regular with a 28 day cycle). This would make my period 8 days late. I was on the combined pill prior to my pregnancy and I started the mini pill the day after my abortion. Would this make me late or have any effect? When I had my first baby I had my period 4 weeks after I gave birth and I assume it was on time. I have been sexually active and missed a couple of my pills in the first couple of weeks taking it as I wasn't used to taking them due to being pregnant for 13 weeks. Does this sound normal or could there possibly be a chance I've managed to get pregnant again?

Mini pill can affect your cycle and can stop your periods too. Have you done a pregnancy test?

My understanding is that you can get pregnant two weeks after an abortion. However, your period can take 4-6 weeks to come back so it may not be late. Mine came back after 3.5 weeks.
Take a test and see (bearing in mind that you may still have pregnancy hormones left from your previous pregnancy that will give you a false positive).
And maybe get an IUD if you can't remember to take your pill?

If you had your abortion 4 weeks ago, wait another two weeks and take a test. Any pregnancy hormones should have come out of your system by then and will give you a better result.

Didn’t they give you pregnancy tests to do at home and an appointment for a scan later?

You have missed some pills so essential you have unprotected sex so yes you can be pregnant.

Yes you could be due to missing pills and having sex. However depending on which minipill you are on, you may not get any periods at all.

Wait 2 weeks and take a test.

You’ve had unprotected sex so yes, you could definitely be pregnant. You need to do a test.
