I’m 14 weeks and literally have no go about me. Some days It takes all my energy to get up and get dressed to end up back in bed again about 2 hours later. Since I found out I was pregnant in October I haven’t really been out anywhere, I had bad nausea from week 5-7. Then morning sickness started about about week 8-12. I’ve had constant headaches this past week and since about week 9 I’ve felt like I’ve been walking around in a bubble, very forgetful and overwhelmed if I do manage to go out anywhere and generally just not interested in things. Has anyone had a similar experience? Does it get better? I have suffered from anxiety and drepression in the past so I’m wondering if it could partly be this.

Sounds like normal 1st trimester tiredness (obviously you are now in your 2nd trimester and it will hopefully shift soon). I was the same! You're growing a little person so going to be very tired. I've now started feeling like myself again at 16 weeks.

@Firesidetreats1 how have you managed to get the time off work? I've been feeling awful but don't wanna call in sick due to MS really x

Firesidetreats1 · 01/01/2019 15:12

@winona1 I haven’t, I’ve just had to drag myself there and then as soon as I get home I’m in bed. Ive been off the last few days (I’ve got holidays left) but that’s also what I’m worried about. I don’t like to ring in sick, esp since I’m the manager. I know I’ve got literally ages to go yet but I can’t wait until maternity. Luckily I still have almost 2 weeks hols left which then get renewed again in April and I’m thinking I’ll take them before my maternity leave starts, I’m due 1st July. But honestly I feel like crap, can’t be bothered to do anything, tidy up or even make food for myself.

Yes I had this and it turned out I had pregnancy anaemia which just got worse and worse until I got some heavy duty iron supplements at the end of the second trimester.

Antenatal depression is common; hormones, sickness and body changes etc. Also tiredness and fatigue is normal in first tri, so if you dont get energy back soon talk to your mw or GP about how you're feeling, they want to support emotional wellbeing too.

Sounds normal for the 1st trimester, sad to say.
Things should get easier in the next couple of weeks, but do speak to your midwife or GP to make sure.

Fatigue in the first trimester is very common - I had it when I was I pregnant and it was horrific, it was a good job I wasn’t working because I wouldn’t have been able to, I could barely lift my head some days. I was having twins and it hit me really hard. From about 17 weeks I had tons of energy, more than before (I have ME and fibromyalgia). Hopefully you’ll find it passes soon

@Firesidetreats1 I'm honestly the same. No energy to do anything, struggling to get out of bed, I've been avoiding taking my vitamins too as they make me sick when I take them on empties and haven't been eating 😕 it went for about a week around Xmas thank god but now it's back plus I have a cold coming.... DP is sick of my winging 😂😂

Lantern92 · 01/01/2019 17:30

Are you me ? I am exactly the same! Also manager at work so don't like to call in sick, due 2nd July! I feel like there's nothing I can pinpoint I just.... Can't be arsed! Counting down to mat leave..... sorry no words of wisdom just know you're not alone !

Firesidetreats1 · 01/01/2019 20:11

@winona1 I know I’m glad for my partner as he’s been taking over and looking after when but when he works late it’s hard for me to do anything apart from go to bed.

@lantern92 yes exactly how I feel. Things I used to enjoy I don’t anymore and I just don’t feel like myself and have a general feeling of cba.
