Hey girls,

So this years new year will be about as wild as a 2ltr of irn bru xtra and a few nibbles since my first baby is due in 7 days time eeek !

Getting impatient waiting for him to make an appearance, not feeling any nerves for labour yet just excitement for him to arrive - im sure the fear will kick in when it begins BlushIve had a few twinges but they have came to nothing, anyone else counting down the days for a new arrival Smile

Me too! Due in 7 days, and for the first time since I was a teenager I have no intention of staying up until midnight tonight!

AnxiousMama101 · 31/12/2018 16:43

I should be due tomorrow and still no signs! First time baby so no idea what I'm waiting for.
Just want to meet my baby💙

fairydustings · 31/12/2018 17:41

I'm due a week from today too! Very quiet NYE here. Compensating with cake. Baby is definitely low but zero twinges - so ready for the off now!

AnxiousMama101 · 31/12/2018 18:50

@fairydustings I keep getting twinges and I keep thinking 'IS THIS IT' and then it fades. Dammit.

I literally have no idea what I'm waiting for and it's frustrating as hell Shock

Can't wait to see my little boy though! Do you have a name picked out?

fairydustings · 31/12/2018 19:47

Me too Smile im having a little boy also, hmm yeh got a few names but not decided on any specific one i believe il need to see his little face first before we can decide - what about you ?

So apparently from all ive read the heartburn is supposed to die down near the end but i have had it soo bad these last few days 🙈 hoping it gives up soon.. before i OD on gaviscon

AnxiousMama101 · 31/12/2018 19:54

@fairydustings I can't wait to meet my little boy, we think we got his name sorted, just wanna see him to confirm it!

My heartburn has been so horrific! Also my sleeping has been so disturbed. I'm basically nocturnal now! I can't fall asleep until about 5-7am and don't get up until 2-3pm! It's horrific!
Can't wait for baby to be here! Grin

fairydustings · 31/12/2018 20:02

I am the same the last few weeks, wake up between 4/5 and thats me up meaning i need to squeeze a nap in at some point so im not like a zombie, my worst nightmare is if i go into labour when ive had like 4 hours sleep - that will be hellish !!

Ive been really lucky other than heartburn not really had anything to moan about.. but dammm can that heartburn kill ! I will not miss that thats for sure Hmm

So are you considering breastfeeding your little man or are you all set to go with formula ?

OP posts:
RosaAbsolute · 31/12/2018 20:25

I'm due my first in about 9 days! It's suddenly for very real now, before I was focussing on Christmas and today it's sunk in that I could go into labour at any point!

I'm so scared about labour but in a way want to get on with it as the waiting isn't much fun and think we are ready (not ready at all but as ready as we can be) and just want her here safely now.

I had some mild period pains earlier today and thought something may be happening but it's amounted to nothing. Have also started with a ticket cough today which is really annoying- don't want to come down with a bug when I've got to give birth!

RosaAbsolute · 31/12/2018 20:26

I do exactly the same with sleep- I wake up at 4am every night and lie awake trying to get back to sleep then fall asleep about 8am and wake up at noon Hmm

AnxiousMama101 · 31/12/2018 20:39

@fairydustings Sleep is my bloody nightmare. Omg I keep thinking the same thing! I panic that I'll go into labour early morning as I'm due to sleep!

I've been told as soon as baby is born, that all the symptoms just stop! This little boy is bound to have lots of hair if it's true about heartburn!

I want to breastfeed but as long as he is feeding and happy, I'll be happy. What about yourself?

@RosaAbsolute Me too - period pain cramps that result to nothing! I've got a sweep booked for Friday and really want to go into labour before then! I've had a virus for weeks, cough has lingered for agessss since!
Sleep is an absolute killer.

fairydustings · 01/01/2019 07:04

@AnxiousMama101 yeh me too i fully intend to give it a go, but I'm prepared if it doesn't work not to be too disheartened. Well I've slept through to this time which is a bonus but thats probably because i didn't go to bed until after 1 - easier said than done yo enjoy the rest whilst you can get it eh, chance would be a fine thing !!

I have a sweep arranged also although is for the day after my due date, feeling a bit sceptical about it as I've heard from friends, family and plenty mums on here that they rarely actually spurred labour on and it is uncomfortable and left many feeling unwell after, cant be a patch on labour surely so im sure it will be fine if i reach that stage - just wish he would arrive nowwww !! Anyone care to share their experience on having a sweep?

@RosaAbsolute yeh thats the same twinges ive had then nothing, it gets you all hyped up thinking ohh ohhh this could be time - fingers crossed girls that its not long now Thanks

AnxiousMama101 · 01/01/2019 07:07

@fairydustings lucky you! I woke up at 3pm and I'm still wide awake. My body doesn't know if it's coming or going at this rate.

Hubby is fast asleep beside me. (Is it okay to punch him in the head lightly?) Grin

I just don't really know what to do with myself.. I hate not being able to control any of this!

fairydustings · 01/01/2019 07:16

@AnxiousMama101 of course a little elbow to the side of the fave never hurt any man (jokes.. maybe haha)

I know its like im walking on egg shells, just plodding along waiting and waiting but not entirely sure of what exact symptom I'm waiting on happening.

hope i sleep later as were going to the in laws for NY dinner today and i don't want to be sat like a zombie although I'm sure they will understand they are so desperate for him to arrive also.. wouldn't be surprised if a vindaloo is on the menu to make an effort of hurrying him 😂

OP posts:
AnxiousMama101 · 01/01/2019 07:30

@fairydustings Oh bless you.. I'm hoping I can crash out soon.. I'm exhausted and heartburn has just kicked off too!

I'm hoping this baby is going to hurry up now.. mama wants cuddles! That's the worst part I think, I have no idea what the first sign will be; waters breaking? The 'show'? Etc

Oh yeah! Vindaloo for definite!! I think I'm gonna take hubby out on a 58372722 mile hike later to see if that does anything 😂

RosaAbsolute · 01/01/2019 11:04

I'm dragging DH out on a hilly walk this afternoon, although today my cough is worse than yesterday, I have a sore throat and can't stop blowing my nose. So annoying as I want to feel fit before I go into labour to give myself a fighting chance at least!

Still over a week from my due date and I'm getting lots of "any news?" from family and friends, I just want something to happen now the waiting is making me nervous. Woke up at 5am as usual feeling really scared but went back to sleep and when I woke again later felt fine! Putting it down to my hormones.

FirstTimeBumps · 01/01/2019 12:56

Anyone any signs? I danced, I threw up my blackcurrant cordial, but I made no progress towards evicting the bump and I've woken up with a bit of a sore throat and a stuffy nose so I'm fuming at the moment. Think I'll give up on eviction proceedings and just wait and see. I went on a five mile walk two days ago (plus a trapse around the shops in the middle of it) and that did nothing. Baby wasn't engaged at my 38 week appointment either. I next see my MW on Saturday at 40 + 3 and I honestly think she'll be saying that were still not engaged. I just don't feel heavily pregnant and could quite happily plod on for another few months. I'm happy to go to 42 weeks but I'm concerned I won't have gone by then and will have to be induced Sad just feel miles away from giving birth

SadCupcake · 01/01/2019 17:24

@FirstTimeBumps (I had a name change from AnxiousMama101)

I literally feel exactly the same. I'm 40 weeks today, it's my due date and I feel so done with pregnancy now. I'm achy, I'm tired, I am not sleeping great. I just need this baby out!

I've got a sweep for 40+3 and just got a feeling it is not going to work.. I'm hoping little man wants to come earlier than that. But me and partner were both two weeks late and I think this little guy is the same.

Struggling as I don't even know what a contraction feels like!

fairydustings · 06/01/2019 22:18

Heyy ladies anyone had their little arrival since last spoke ?

Im still waiting due tomorrow (come onnn little man) i dont see him appearing any time soon but you never know everything's crossed !

OP posts:
SadCupcake · 06/01/2019 22:36

Hiya @fairydustings - no baby 😭

Had a sweep which removed my plug pretty much and midwife said I was about 1cm, she stretched it to 2cm but I wasn't fully effaced yet.
Had period pains but nothing else since besides feeling bruised from the tops of my thighs to my waist!

Ive got to call on Wednesday morning at 7.30 to see if I can go in for an induction. If there are no beds free, I can't go in until the next day. Just got to keep ringing until there's a free bed. (As I'd only be 7 days over by Wednesday)

Feeling pretty deflated and feel like my body is failing at the one job it's programmed to do.

fairydustings · 06/01/2019 22:49

Fingers crossed it will be any time then, gosh thats terrible you have to wait for a bed must be busy.

How did you find the sweep? No worse than a smear im told...

My sweep is on Tuesday so hopefully that gets him moving.

Thats a shame your feeling deflated - hang-in there you've come this far its the final hurdle ❤️

OP posts:
SadCupcake · 06/01/2019 22:58

I'm hoping I go from zero to a hundred really quick and I don't get as far as the induction but I don't feel like anything is going to happen before then..

I mean I was a bit like 'this is alright and isn't so- Jfc OKAH THAT SMARTS A LITTLE JESUS COUKD SHE GET ANY HIGHER?!"😂😂
I feel like it's done something, everything is just happening slowly..
