Bedding - how much?

Hi All,

Needing recommendations on how much bedding to buy for first baby? Sheets and blankets. We have a Tutti Bambini Cozee (I'm aware the branded sheets are expensive and have a bad reputation) and was going to get predominently cellular blankets.

Thanks all x

We have a tutti bambini, got our sheets from asda travel cot size, not exact but fit fine tucked under. We got 2 fitted sheets, 2 flat sheets, a mattress protector and a couple of cellular blankets. Received a couple of thicker blankets as gifts that have come in handy too.

depends.
if you have a sicky baby you will need loads. if not, a lot less...
at least 3 changes I would say.

I have the Tutti Bambini, use a mattress protector and have four sheets bought from Amazon which is plenty (one is still in the pack). We found our son slept better when he was swaddled so we bought two three packs of jersey swaddle blankets from Mothercare. He has a blanket tucked over his lower half but that doesn’t get sick on it so we only need two of those! He is almost five weeks now and we’re going to try and get him into gro bags instead of the swaddle/blanket in the next couple of weeks.

Three. One being used, one clean and in the drawer and one in the wash.

We had the Tutti Bambini as well- loved it.

I had two fitted sheets (although could have done with one more) with a travel cot mattress protector underneath- dd was a very sicky baby!

Bought two cellular blankets as well, but tbh since we used sleeping bags they didn’t get used very much.

I'd say 4.

I'd have: mattress, protector is using one, then a muslin where the head will lie, one sheet, muslin where the head will lie, second sheet.

Then one clean in the drawer and one in the wash.

The reason for the 2 on the bed separated by a muslin is that it in the night, if baby is sick you don't have to scramble around changing bedding with a crying baby who just wants feeding/ cleaning up.

And once baby is the minimum size for sleeping bags, we didn't use blankets unless it was really cold.

Hi all, for those of you that have the Tutti Bambini (we have just purchased one) do you know where I could buy a mattress protector that fits? I’m looking online and can’t seem to find one that’s the right measurements for the mattress x

We have 4 because they tend to come in sets of 2.

We have 4/5 blankets because people have bought them as gifts. Useful for the pram if nothing else :)

We have a tutti bambini cozee and the Mothercare crib sized mattress protectors fit. Theyre £10 each so we bought 2.

Thanks. Really helpful. I'll get the Mothercare mattress protector.
