Changing Mats

I saw a post on here a few weeks ago but I didn't bookmark the page. Somebody had suggested that wedge changing mats are better than flat ones.

I don't have any friends who have used the wedge ones so don't have anybody to ask if they are better and why they are better.

Can anybody shed any light, and does anybody have suggestions for a good one to buy?

I like the wedge ones, contain baby better.

I also like the cot top changers due to the height but know some don't rate them.

Thank you @mortifiedmama, I'll have a look at the cot top changers, too. I hadn't considered those yet :)

The inflatable ikea one is good - catches wee. Frankly anything wipeable is fine imo. We use the ikea one with disposable incontinence pads on top.

We've bought two wedge-shaped changing mats from Mothercare. They're wipe-clean and may help prevent babies from rolling off (of course they'll never be left unattended on a changing mat) but they just stuck me as slightly safer.

We've got wedge shaped ones from amazon. Grey with white elephants and a white with pink stars on. About £20 each. My dd is 2.5 yrs now. The wedge is good as little baby is less likely to roll off! Obviously never leave unattended.
