My daughter is currently pregnant with her 2nd. She has had several UTI/Kidney infections and on a low dose maintainace antibiotic till baby comes. Her waters went last week at 28 weeks, she was kept in and given steroids, magnesium and meds to stop labour and this has worked. They let her home after 4 days and said she would receive regular appointments and scans to check baby. However this has not happened, and when she went back in yest due to reduced movements they said that as her waters have gone they wont be doing anything, no extra scans, appointments or checks until 34 wks (Unless she shows signs of infection or goes into labour). Is this right now a days? anyone been in a similar situation. Just want to be able to reassure daughter.
Thanks

Sounds very strange to me, i can understand them not doing anything down below due to risk of infection but they should be giving her regular check up to make sure thats not happened

That sounds very odd. I'd advise her to seek a second opinion ASAP or ask to speak to a senior midwife. I would not be happy with that treatment plan at all.

That's what we thought and on discharge they told her they would but last night said no as it won't change the care plan. But the fact she has recurring infections should that not be a cause for concern.
