Car seat & pram with fiat 500

Hi guys,

I’m due in May and currently looking in the January sales at prams and car seats. I have a 2015 plate fiat 500. 3 door and definitely not ideal with a baby but can’t afford to change it immediately, hoping I can hold on to it for another year!

I’m looking at the egg pram as I’ve seen some pics and reviews saying it fits in the boot of the fiat (minus the carrycot). I’m also considering the maxi-cosi cabriofix car seat, their website says it’ll fit in my car with the isofix base, I’m in doubt that the base will fit and would maybe just need to be belted, any ideas?

Does anyone have any personal experience/advice with these products for this car? Or any products that would be better? First time mum here and could use all the help I can get!

Thanks.

We had the Mamas & Papas Armadillo Flip XT and a Cybex Aton Q car seat in a 2014 plate Fiat 500. Pram needed a wheel taken off to fit easily, but was v quick to fold and do that, and carrycot would go on the back seat. We managed for a year and then upgraded to bigger car, but in many ways I miss the little Fiat!

You could look at the Yoyo Zen, it collapses down very small but still has options for parent/rear facing etc.

My friend has a cossato sorry I don't know more details but that fits well in her fiat 500.

My sister has a 500 and our cosatto car seat didn't belt in properly, we couldn't pull the belt through enough to tighten it as there is a little plastic type button thing on the seat belt. You might be best looking for an iso fix as I think this would be a problem for most carriers being belted in. Smile

If you take your car to mothercare they will let you try them in it.

Best thing if you can is to go and try some out in the shop, I had a fiat 500 and some of the seats etc did technically fit; but you had to have the front passenger seat all the way forward which pretty much rules out taking anyone in the car with you. The boot space was fully taken up with a lot of the prams as well, so depends if you’d be likely to need to put shopping etc in there as well. Such nice cars though, I loved mine and was gutted to let it go- hopefully you find something :)

I’ve got a KA and in the same boat looking for a pram that I can fit in and hopefully not have to dis assemble every time! I think the plan is to take it down to a bigger Mothercare or somewhere and see if I can try some.

I've managed to get a Mothercare Maine and a Joie Stages into my brother's Fiat 500. Only works if the person sitting in front has short legs though!
