12 week bleeding

Good afternoon. 12 weeks pregnant today first pregnancy . Felt like I had discharge coming out but when went to the toilet saw it was blood. Not much, quite light red. Wiped and there was a bit of bright red blood. Had a few period like cramps yesterday and back ache .. but this morning I didn't. Rang the EPAU told me to put a pad on and monitor as I'm not getting any pains. But now I'm cramping again , tiny bit of blood on the pad which I put on at 10:30 it's not dark atall. Should I be worried? Do you think I should just go In to the unit?

If you can just go then I would at my EPAU you need a referral. It is better to be safe and it'll hopefully stop some of the worry.

Sending you well wishes.

Your EPU should be offering you a scan. It annoys me to death when they turn women with pain and bleeding away.

I had similar, after 2 consequtive M/C’s and a very nervous wait until 12 weeks I was elated when we got to that elusive week! The day after I had a bleed accompanied with cramps and backache (the pain was what made me check for blood in the first place) it was a tiny amount, reddy pink and not at all heavy but me being me went into absolute meltdown. I was only 3 days away from my first scan and I tried desperately to get an earlier one but they couldn’t fit me in and told me to wait until my scheduled scan.

Anyway all was fine, I had another bleed a week later and an amazing midwife got me in straight away (she asked the sonographer to stay for an extra two hours to give us time to get to the hospital to get scanned) again all was fine!

I would keep on at EPU though, have you had a scan yet? If not your 12 week scan can’t be too far away?

Thankyou, yeah I'm able to just go in to the ward. I rang them again and they have booked me in for emergency scan tomorrow again told me to monitor only to go in if I fill a pad within half an hour. My 12 wk scan is only a few days away on Wednesday. I think I will just wait until tomorrow unless it gets worse.. it's my first pregnancy and I don't feel very supported or reassured by midwives I'm unsure what bleeding is normal at this stage. I had an early scan at 8 weeks and saw HB😊

I had an absolute ton of bleeding around 11 weeks. I've never seen so much. They were really only concerned with the amount of blood I was losing and I got told to go to A&E. They sent me to maternity who scanned and saw a heartbeat. And a gigantic haematoma. When I went back a few days later for proper scan they measured the haematoma at something like 10cm x 10cm x 3cm. And that was after I had been bleeding heavier than my heaviest ever period for a few days. Continued bleeding for a couple of weeks - Although it did slow right down. DS2 was born bang on time at home and totally oblivious to all the stress.

Hope all goes well for you too. Stay away from Google though. Google is not your friend! Xx

I am 12 weeks tomorrow and have had some bleeding/spotting since last weekend. Had a scan and they said I had a subchronic hematona and didnt seem at all concerned. Hopefully its the same for you!
