Sciatica cure please?

Has anyone been successfully treated for sciatica during pregnancy? I'm 26 weeks and in constant agony. I went to GP yesterday and asked for physio referral and stupidly walked out without asking what I can do in meantime. I've also been reading now that physio isn't effective! I am really struggling with my toddler :(

Physio didn’t cure me but they taught me exercises that definitely helped

Thank you. Glad to hear it! I'm finding it very hard to walk right now. Do you put ice on it or should it be heat?

I used to get ex dp to pummel my buttocks. Not as exciting as it sounds but it worked

Ice packs help me, but I know heat helps others. Definitely worth asking your GP about

I'm in such pain I think I'm going to go to urgent care tomorrow morning. Paracetamol is doing nothing. I'm icing too.

You can search for NHS sciatica exercises and you will see some photos and descriptions.

Will look up the photos. I went to an urgent care centre today and saw a GP. I was given cocodamol and told I could take it TIL the end of pregnancy if needed. They said it's best to alternate heat and ice and to have physio. Gentle exercise is better than trying to rest. Really need a rest today though!

Yoga will help

I have it sporadically and it's painful so I feel for you OP with it being so bad a lot. I asked a midwife at my hospital when I had a scan and she said not much I can do about it! But I have used a warm hot water bottle a couple of times and tried to take it easy. You could also try your community midwife as she may have different advice :) I hope it improves soon
