UTI? Or early labour? (TMI)

I’m 35+5 with what has been a bit of a complex pregnancy. I have underlying medical issues which have meant lots of scans etc, I’m on blood thinners and I am consultant led. Booked in for a planned section 2 weeks Tuesday.

Woke up today at 5am with what feels like UTI pain. Keep wanting to run to the loo but cant go as regularly as I feel I need. Also yesterday I went for a poo three times when I would only normally go once a day, and this morning I have already been once and feel like I need to go again. No diarrhoea though.

I don’t have much of a temperature, only 38. Although my temp is usually 36 so may be a bit higher than usual.

I’ve had lots of very strong Braxton Hicks for about 10 weeks now so know what they feel like and I’m not having contraction-like pains I don’t think, but this is my first PG do not entirely sure.

I’ve rung the DAU and they’ve told me to try and get a GP appointment today. I will call at 8.30 and see if I can but I’m in quite a lot of pain and I’m worried because I’ve been explicitly told that I’m not allowed to labour naturally due to medical condition and if I go into early labour they would bring the section forward.

Any ideas on what to do? Sorry for the long post!

You’ve a slight temperature so that sounds more like a UTI than labour to me, but no one on here can tell you what’s going on really so absolutely GP today, take a Irvine sample with you as well x

Urine*

Is it placenta previa you're suffering from (I am too). If so I would go in to get checked just to be safe

Thanks for your replies, no I don’t have placenta previa, my placenta is anterior but not low.

I thought it would be a UTI but I just went to the GPs this morning and the urine test was negative, no traces of anything at all. They are sending off a sample for cultures but said it’s very uncommon to get any positive bacteria tests come back if nothing has been found on the dip test.

So now not sure what is going on... could this be the start of me dilating etc? I have to pee every 5 mins and there is so much pressure down there! Doc says she is 4/5 engaged...

Ps. Also been for a number 2 three times already today but no diarrhoea, all seems normal, and don’t feel sick at all.
