So, had my '28 week' midwife appointment today even though I'll be 30 weeks on Saturday Grin

Unfortunately I've got to have a growth scan on Monday as my bump hasn't increased in size since my last appointment three weeks ago. Midwife reassured me that in all likelihood everything is fine, but I cannot help but worry, especially since I've had periods of reduced movements too (went to hospital on those occasions and all was well).

Anyone else had a growth scan?

I did and it was all fine. It's mainly precautionary.

I had lots of growth scans and DD was totally fine! Try not to worry pFlowers

yeah, I was referred, you get to see the blood flow thru placenta in colour! They are very cautious but rare to find a genuine problem.

Modern medicine is amazing so if there is a problem they will catch it early & have many ways to manage it well.

It's nothing to worry about , personally I've never known anyone to have a negative outcome from a growth scan apart from 3 of my nephews being born at 37 weeks via planned c section

Absolutely fine they are just very cautious. Think of it as an extra chance to see your baba ❤️

I did op, almost same as you, had 28wk appat 30 weeks, no change in measurements for 2 weeks, had a growth scan, said all was ok, baby was growing but would prob be a small baby (I'm v. Tall, had same issue with dc1 and she was born nearly 8lbs so took it all with a pinch of salt) dc2 was fine and was born weighing more than dc 1!
I know it's stressful but I'm sure everything will be fine

TinselandToblerones · 27/12/2018 21:02

Even if baby is on the small side (one of my twins decided to stop all growth at 34 weeks) they just keep an eye on you in order to keep them inside, safely, for as long as possible.

I’ve heard so many times that bump size doesn’t correlate with baby size though.

I had growth scans at 28 weeks, 32 weeks and 37 weeks as I was measuring too small, baby was absolutely fine though, just a petite 6 pound 4.

CarrieBlu · 27/12/2018 21:06

Although they did want to induce me at 38 weeks.

CobaltRose96 · 27/12/2018 21:23

Thanks all! DP was a fairly small baby (weighed 6lbs exactly even though he was full term. Totally healthy and average height now, just dinky as a baby), so in all likelihood she's just small. At least I'll get to see her again! ❤
