Empty sac

Should be 7 weeks today and went for a scan for brown spotting and scan showed sac with nothing inside measuring 4-5 weeks. They've just called with HCG levels which are 3087 and went a repeat scan in two weeks. I know it's probably another miscarriage, but anyone else had similar?

Is there any way u could be much earlier than u first thought?

bumblenbean · 26/12/2018 17:49

Hi OP I’m sorry to hear this. I had the same and unfortunately was a m/c but equally I know that sometimes there is a happy ending after an early scan that doesn’t look great. Hoping that will be the case for you.

On the plus side, I had an ERPC after the m/c and then got pregnant on my very next cycle (DS now 15 months old!) so there's every chance the next one will be ok for you. Good luck.

unicornxo · 26/12/2018 17:50

@Bigonesmallone3 no I don't think so as I had my first positive on 3rd December ☹️

@bumblenbean thank you. Sadly this will be my third miscarriage this year, seems strange as I am getting caught first month each time. Hopefully we will get referred and get some answers. Glad it all worked out for you and thank you for responding.

@unicornxo I’m so, so sorry to hear this. Having multiple miscarriages consecutively is soul destroying and sometimes the limbo of not knowing for certain is worse.

Sending lots of love OP. I hope you get some answers x

bumblenbean · 26/12/2018 17:59

Oh no, I’m sorry OP. That is really crap Sad

Really hope everything works out for you x

Littlegoth · 26/12/2018 18:05

I’m in this situation now too. I have my follow up scan tomorrow, but the hospital made it very clear I should not be hopeful , they expected me to miscarry over the last 10 days. As I haven’t, I’m expecting to be offered medical management tomorrow. A second miscarriage for me this year. I will be thinking of you, and if it isn’t a positive outcome for you then for I hope you get some answers following referral X

ScarletGlow · 26/12/2018 18:39

So sorry for you all. Don't lose hope 💕

Runruth400 · 26/12/2018 23:28

I'm also in the same boat. HCG rising slowly so was sent for laparoscopy surgery on Sunday ?ectopic as I had been suffering some pains. Luckily, nothing needed removing.

Back for another (3rd) scan on the 3rd Jan! I also have had a MMC in September so this is such an emotional rollercoaster all over again Sad

My fingers are crossed for you too xx

unicornxo · 27/12/2018 08:48

@Littlegoth @Runruth400 sorry you are going through the same, not fair especially over the Christmas period. My bleeding has got worse so I'm hoping I will just miscarry naturally instead of having to go backwards and fourth to hospital

@Littlegoth good luck with your appointment today x

Runruth400 · 28/12/2018 23:56

@Littlegoth how was your appointment today?

Littlegoth · 29/12/2018 08:46

@Runruth400
@unicornxo

Thanks - appointment went really well, was in for about 2 hours (an hour was waiting for a doctor to become available to prescribe). I went for medical management as my last MC took several weeks to happen naturally and I didn’t want it hanging over me again.

i had 4 tablets under my tongue and then was allowed to go home, 8 hours later it was all over, there was a rough 40 minutes (normally you are given codeine but as I’m allergic I had to make do with paracetamol Sad) but on the whole much calmer, faster and I felt more in control than my last mc. I was only in pain for those 40 minutes, it stopped instantly when I passed the sac. Very relieved it’s over and can’t praise the hospital staff highly enough as I’ve been really looked after.

I hope you are both feeling ok, sorry we find ourselves here xx

unicornxo · 29/12/2018 17:28

@Littlegoth glad it went as good as it could for you. It's such a rubbish time isn't it? Especially with Christmas.

I passed what I think was all mine last night, it wasn't to painful either so feeling almost a bit relieved that it isn't drawn out.

@Littlegoth @unicornxo I hope your both feeling ok and can concentrate on moving forward now!

I am expecting all this to come after my scan on Thursday which I'm pretty sure is going to confirm an unsuccessful pregnancy AGAIN Sad

Have a great NYE and here's to a better 2019 Star
