Hello,

This is my first post but long time lurker! I’ve just treated myself to some Christmas cheeses for lunch but now having a panic that I’ve eaten one that I shouldn’t have. It’s a smoked German cheese from Asda - groceries.asda.com/product/fruit-flavoured-smoked/asda-smoked-cheese/910002128870 is this ok? It doesn’t say anywhere if it’s pasturised and I can’t decide whether it counts as a hard cheese?! I’m thinking (hoping) yes? I’m 30 weeks

It’s fine as it’s a hard cheese. You shouldn’t have cheeses like smoked Camembert.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 24/12/2018 14:33

I’m sure that’ll be fine, I reckon that counts as a hard cheese anyway, plus it tends to be very obvious from the packaging if the cheese is made from unpasteurised milk.

Youbare absolutely fine, it’s a pasteurised hard cheese for sure

Although I know it’s a personal choice,
I didn’t avoid any cheese during pregnancy. It’s becuase if listeria risk... which you can as easily catch from salad/melons/bean sprouts. I think a supermarket cheese is very very unlikely to be even a potential problem. Relax and enjoy tour Christmas!
