Stomach cramps all night - something feels stuck

14 weeks pregnant here. Last night was kept awake with excruciating stomach pains much like trapped wind. Plenty wind moving around so I'm pretty sure it was that. (Or just trying not to think about it being the other thing)

If I press on my tummy at the left had side it was very sore/tender to the touch and it feels like there is something there that's just not moving. Wind seems to be getting around it but with a great deal of pain.

I'll call my doctor at 8, be in a queue for an hour amongst all the people who haven't ordered their repeat prescrptions yet, then be told there's no appointments for today.

Anyone got any advice/thoughts?

Constipation by the sound of it.
Very common at this stage of pregnancy.
I would recommend a couple of glycerine suppositories and regular movicol or lactulose.
You should probably send someone else to the chemist to buy them though in case they refuse to sell them to a pregnant woman.

Do not eat high roughage things like allbran because you just end up with a solid blockage.
This is because transit through your bowel slows down a lot in pregnancy and water is reabsorbed.
Prunes and cooked veg are much safer.

I phoned the triage at the consultant led unit. They want me in to check it out. They've said it doesn't sound like anything too worrying - nasty case of constipation. Unit opens at 7.30 so I'll go in for then.
