Can I go swimming after mucus plug has come out?

Hi,
I’m 39+3 with my 2nd.
I had a sweep 3 days ago, yesterday my mucus plug came out. I’ve had a few mild surges but nothing regular. Waters haven’t released.
Is it safe to go swimming?

I don't think it is safe because that mucus plug would be protecting your uterus from infection...

Stephisaur · 23/12/2018 06:32

It sure I would because of the chlorine.

You’d be ok in a bath with no soap etc though :)

Also small chance of your waters breaking whilst swimming and chlorine or not, that's grim for everyone else.

I wouldn't. Risk of infection

Not worth the risk, years ago my cousin did get an an infection in this scenario and her baby was ill at birth. Hope you get your Christmas present very soon!
