am also 21 weeks, and it moves lots, but sometimes I don't feel it all day.

Nbg · 26/06/2007 12:44

Its very normal not to feel baby move in the day because your so busy. Its only when you start to relax in an evening that you feel it.

With my ds I didnt really feel him move or kick till 24/25 weeks and he was my second.

LadyTophamHatt · 26/06/2007 12:44

baby still has alot of room in there, he/she has probabaly turned to be facing inwards, toward your spine so you can't feel the kicks.

Iklboo · 26/06/2007 12:45

Not a massive amount. But by about 30 weeks or so it looked like I had the Alien in my tummy (felt like it too!)

LadyTophamHatt · 26/06/2007 12:45

BTW, I can't believe you're 21 weeks already Sparkly. That has whizzzzzzzzed by.
(prob not for you though...)

Dawn2820 · 26/06/2007 12:51

do any of you get concerned or do you just ride it out and wait and if so how long do you wait before contacting mw?

I hardly felt mine at 21 weeks. It was a good few weeks after that I had 'regular' movements.
Plus- babies tend to move more at night- in the day your movements act as a rocking and soothes it. At night/ evening when you are still and relaxed it wakes up a bit more!

I know LTH, it is whizzing past. I had dd1 at 31 weeks, and dd2 at 33 weeks and its scary thinking that I could have this baby in 10-12...

Dawn2820 · 26/06/2007 13:03

Sparkly

what is your due date then hun mine is the 3rd November

OP posts:
LadyTophamHatt · 26/06/2007 13:04

Dawn, go and eat a ice cream/ice lolly and lay on the sofa for 20 minutes.
Better still eat 2...or 3 and then eat a bar of chocolate and a doughnut*

That'll get him/her moving.

*not that I did any of that you understand. Poor Ds1 came out sugar caoted I ate so many sweet things.

sparklygothkat · 26/06/2007 13:05

am actually 20+6, due 8th nov

scoobydoo33 · 26/06/2007 13:06

Hey Dawn2820, I'm 23 weeks on Thursday and don't feel the baby move that often, I certainly haven't felt any kicks as such. At my 20 week scan, they said the baby was surrounded by a lot of fluid, so that can cushion the movement. I don't get concerned, just take it day by day. I really think you will know if there's anything to be worried about. x

Dawn2820 · 26/06/2007 13:07

not far behind me then chick i am 21 +4 now its flying by.

I understand LTH that you would never do such a thing, just like me i couldnt eat 3 ice creams (lol who am i kidding pass them here)

Dawn2820 · 26/06/2007 13:32

thank you hun

sorry to sound ignorant but what is IUGR

OP posts:
sparklygothkat · 26/06/2007 13:35

its Inter-utrura (sp) growth retardation. DS stopped growing at 28-31 weeks, and was small for dates. When I was at booking in appointment the consulatant also said that Dd2 was small for dates too

dal21 · 26/06/2007 13:41

not much at all at your stage, it was occasional as others say, became much more active around 24 weeks.
am now nearly 27 weeks and am getting constantly belted - love it!
