Anyone had this type of morning sickness?

I didn't have any MS with my first pregnancy, just one or two food aversions so feel this has taken me by surprise!

I'm 7+2 and for the past week have been feeling sick on and off to varying degrees, but it's nothing like everything I'd been told about MS!

I feel like food is always lying on my stomach even if I've only had a small amount. I literally fancy eating no food, the thought and smell of almost everything makes me feel more sick. If I do fancy something it's quite random like mackerel or sweet and sour sauce and I can usually eat some pick and mix type sweets. Enjoying tea and coffee as normal but any carbs or cheese are totally out of the question! I felt a bit weak last night and managed half a tin of beans so I can get it down when I need to, I'm just totally off food.

My midwife was flummoxed. Could it actually not be MS and maybe a tummy bug or has anyone else had similar?

I had something a bit like that. It didn’t feel as though the food was always lying in my stomach, but I could only eat small or tiny amounts and then had to recline at the appropriate angle for a while.

I couldn’t really face eating most things, but I always eventually managed to think of one thing I could eat, so I ate that if it was possible to do so.

And I also felt sick most of the time, although I’ve not actually been sick. (Gag reflex started at 8 or 9 weeks, and although the sickness is nearly gone at 14 weeks, the gag reflex is still doing its thing! Joy!)

So yeah - it all sounds like general pregnancy gastric awkwardness, which is put under the umbrella of morning sickness while you’re feeling sick.

Thanks for replying. It does sound similar, I was hoping it might be a bug. Glad you are starting to feel better and fingers crossed your gag reflex settles down for Xmas!

Hey OP I feel similar. I'm 6+5 and feel like I have a constant hangover. I haven't been sick but feel nauseous and it does vary throug the day from none to feeling like I want to be sick! I can't face anything and am having to force things down. Yesterday breakfast cereal was great, but today its just not gone down well at all.
I'm on a pregnancy thread and people seem to have varying degrees of MS. Maybe this is just what it is for you?

My MS felt similar, there was nothing I wanted to eat and very few things tempted my appetite. I felt nauseous most of the time and the smell or texture of some things I normally love was too much, it was terrible.

I ended up sticking to a few things that I could stomach, drinking plenty of fluids and taking my vitamins religiously.

I'm 23 weeks now and it did settle down eventually! Altho my appetite isn't as ... erm ... big as it used to be!

I had that with this pregnancy, after pretty standard MS with dc1.

Any meal would just lie in my stomach for hours, leaving me feeling overstuffed and uncomfortably bloated.

Some of it was wind Blush and I tried some Windeez which helped a little. What did work though was making sure I didn’t eat too much at dinner, and snacking rather than eating meals during the day.

It tapered off at about 12 weeks thank goodness!

Mine was similar, I couldn't face eating anything and if I did my tummy felt weird for ages and I'd have to lie back but not flat until it felt better. I lost about a stone and a half - easiest diet I've ever done! Went by about 18 weeks.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yes, similar to a hangover, but not a good hangover where you're starving for burgers and things and everything tastes delicious, more like a poisoned sort of feeling!

I went to a cafe today and didn't fancy anything so only had a cake, then all of my friends food came and it all looked lovelyXmas Smile Xmas Envy
