Hi ladies! I’m just trying to make myself feel better here as I’ve just weighed myself and In complete shock! ☹️ I’ve always been so self conscious of my weight but I’ve been eating like crazy and never had any sickness so I’ve just been gaining and gaining from the very start.
I was very slim to before pregnancy I always had a tiny waist (started of 57kg)
I will be 27 weeks on Saturday and I’ve already gained about 15 kg so far??! I’ve heard that’s what woman gain overall! I still have 3 months left how much more weight am I going to gain 😫

I’m hoping I will gain another 5kg in the last few months to make it 20kg at least!
Has anybody else gained 20kg or more and did you lose it ??

I gained 22kg (3 1/2 stone). I couldn't believe it. Lost it all by 8 months post birth.

All It took was eating well and some daily exercise. Nothing drastic and absolutely no fad diets.

I waited until 12 weeks after birth before I started working on it. I just kept to my routine no matter how tired I was.

If you want to lose it then you will. I honestly thought that after a baby you gained extra weight that was never ever going to shift. That seems to be a forced stereotype , along with the "sex will never feel the same again".

I'm 37 weeks and have gained two stone, I was about 50kg at the start of pregnancy. I'm hoping not to gain too much more. I don't think you can worry too much about weight gain when you're pregnant, there's so much going on including extra blood, fluid, the placenta etc. All of my friends with babies have lost the baby weight within about ten months and that includes some who gained more than four stone.

Thank you for your replies ladies it’s given me some hope 🙌🏻 I think everyone’s body is different but I really didn’t think I would gain this much!!
I am planning to breastfeed so I hope that will really help shift the weight.
It’s going to take hard dieting and some regular exercise.
@rachelDod can’t believe you’ve only gained 2 stone! That’s amazing I’m jealous 😄

I'm only 10 weeks in and have gained around 10 pounds. Like you I've always been slim so this much weight gain has been quite scary! I'm just going to embrace it, make sure I'm eating right and hope it all comes off after!
I'm sure if you look after yourself post pregnancy you'll be fine!

I weighed 8st pre pregnancy and put on 3 stone. Lost it all by 5 months post partum and lost another few pounds because of breastfeeding.

Don't worry, your body needs to do what it needs to do.

My advice would be do not worry! I'm 6 weeks after having my ds and I already weigh less than what I did before I fell pregnant. I'm not 100% sure what I gained during my pregnancy but it was at least 15kg. I've found it difficult to make time to eat like I did during pregnancy as I'm just so busy. I also found that I lost my appetite pretty much straight after giving birth. I was also very worried about what my body would be like post birth but our bodies are incredible and it's surprising how amazing they bounce back after doing such as an incredible job!!

I think everyone’s different so don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I’m 1/2 stone lighter than when I got pregnant. I initially lost 1.5 stone because of morning sickness and have just never gained that much even though I eat the same. I think bigger people tend to not gain as much for some weird reason (not that I’m complaining) and slimmer folk gain more. You’re growing a new person so don’t worry about the weight loss just yet xx

I gained 4 stone last time Blush It came off fairly easily though and I was less that pre-pregnancy weight within 6 months, don’t stress about it too much, I didn’t start dieting till 3 months post—partum. Now I’ve lost another stone and am hoping to not put on quite so much this time round!

I put on 20kg in my first pregnancy...at the time I wasn't worried but afterwards was pretty horrified 🙄 I breastfed until 19 months and was quite active (DD would only nap in the pram so I got a Fitbit and walked at least 3 miles a day) but didn't diet at all, and by the time I went back to work 10 months PP I was slim, and although I don't remember the timing of when it happened, I ended up losing more and was 7kg lighter when I got pregnant again 2.5 years later than I started out my first pregnancy. Definitely not down to diet in my case!!

I’m 30 weeks and have gained just over 2 stone! I don’t even look very pregnant, just fatter!
