Basically yesterday at my 20 week scan they found I had a raised Nuchal thickening measurement of 6.6mm so went back for a consultation who has confirmed it as 6.5mm instead. I was then told this could mean a chance of genetic issues and was offered an amniocentesis,termination or growth scans, or it could just be little man has a thicker neck than average. They also said his cord is currently around his neck which could make the measurement bigger than it should be because it pushes fat to the sides if that makes sense. I opted for the growth scans and have my next one booked. I was just wondering how likely this is to be something serious? has anyone else had a similar experience and their baby has been fine? How bad is 6.5mm?
