7 days overdue and getting painful but inconsistent contractions for two days!!!!!

Hi,
I am 41 weeks today with my first and I had a membrane sweep done 4 days ago which was followed my spotting and cramping. Yesterday I was getting contractions lasting 5-7 mins and then 3-5 minutes all day but then slowed down during the night. Today I am getting contractions again that are very insomsistent (7 mins, 12 mins, 20 mins, 7 mins etc) but they are lasting longer and are extremely more painful. I have been leaking watery discharge but I’m not sure if it’s my waters slowly leaking or not. I’m really concerned and fed up and just need some advice if I should contact the labour ward as they advised not to come in unless my water has broken or my contractions are 1-3 mins apart. Please help!!!!

That sounds rough! If you think you might be losing water I would call them. I was 'trickling' waters with my first and had to be induced as you're at risk of infection.

If you think it might be your waters pop a pad on, apparently the smell of your waters is very different to discharge/wee (I wouldn't know as my waters never went). Keep the pad if you think it is, a midwife would want to see it (possibly smell it) to confirm.
Try rest if you can, very hard but your body will work against you if you're stressed. Best of luck
