I’ve just turned 28 weeks pregnant and since this last night i’ve had a niggling back ache about half way down my ribs on the left side of my back. Kind of like a stitch, I cannot get comfortable at all, heat and pain relief is not helping🙄
And now since this morning all down the left side of my labia is very painful, it feels bruised and achey, sitting down, walking and laying down is very uncomfortable! I haven’t done anything different, no sec either!

Any ideas or suggestions on how to relieve it?!

Fanny daggers? Not much you can do I'm afraid. It's just the nerves being compressed. Are you using a pregnancy pillow to sleep? It does help a lot.

@spugzbunny
I didn’t even think they were a thing😂😫
I have one of the dreamgenii ones however I always end up on my back with the “L” shaped bit hanging off the bed! And it seems to make my back ache worse! I’m a lost cause for it as I know I should sleep on my back!

Try a pillow behind you to keep you on your side. I found it got easier to stay on my side the bigger I got! You can also ask your midwife to refer you for the pains you are suffering from which can help! I did antinatal Pilates which helped hugely!

I’m seeing the midwife Friday so I will ask her for some advice! It’s so painful and uncomfortable, it’s like I’ve been beaten!

How did you get on with the midwife?

Jummynbean · 21/12/2018 21:39

Pahaha Danny daggers!!!, you guys crack me up

@spugzbunny In all honesty, midwife was useless and said there’s nothing I can do other than find what makes me comfortable! The fanny daggers were because baby’s head was literally right down in my pubic area, the sonographer confirmed that 😂 but other than that I think it’s the nasty cold i’ve got taking all life out of me aswell!

The joys of pregnancy I’m afraid. I’m pregnant with no2 and thought my ribs were breaking a few days ago, and I had major fanny daggers at the same time, baby was in a really awkward stretchy position. Hot baths helped a lot with DD and are helping with this baby.

@coffeekittens this is all new to me!
I’ve been experiencing the kicks under my ribs making me literally jump in the air at the moment! I haven’t got a bath just a shower so i’ve been relying on hot water bottles! X
