Period type pains - is this normal?

Hi all. First pregnancy here so not really sure what to expect, I’m 26+5 weeks with my first pregnancy. Everything has been ok so far, had a couple of light bleeds a few weeks ago but all turned out fine. I’ve been getting a bad back on and off which is like a sharp twinge when I walk, but even when I’m resting I often get period type pains in my front. Almost the exact pains I get when I’m due on my period, achey and feels like there’s a lot of pressure, almost like bleeding is imminent but of course I don’t bleed and it goes away, but then comes back a while later. I know aches and pains in pregnancy are normal, but are the period pains/pressure normal too? I’ll ask my midwife but im not booked in to see her until 29 weeks due to Christmas holidays. Thanks! X

I don't want to worry you, but no. How long have you had the pains? Could you be in labour? I would get checked.

@dingit Sad oh god. I’ve had them a while to be honest, at least two weeks now! As it had been going on for so long and I’d read that pains/pressure is common I just assumed it was normal. It’s just the fact it feels so similar to the pains I get when I’m due or on my period that was starting to worry me! X

For me yes, totally normal.

2 weeks, then probably ok then.
