Hi im just wondering if you would recommend a epidural i have had 3 natural labours with just a bit of gas and air mainly chewing on the tube.

My third was a induced labour at 36 weeks and it was traumatic contractions kept starting and stopping had to give birth standing up.

I had clips on babys head catheters in because i retained urine ecgs done on me and baby because both of us where going into distress heart rate dipping.

Then i had a retained placenta and after 3 hours just getting ready for surgery a dr came in and just twisted and pulled it put i ended up with a infection and tore right down which they decided not to stitch as i had been through enough.

Anyways my 1st was painful but nothing compared to this i was wanting a c-section but came to realise with 3 children 1 who has just turned 1 it wouldn't be great.

I have nerve damage to my back sciatica and have done since birth of my first baby so am i able to get a epidural are the risks higher or anymore back damage i also have spd so hoping this might relieve some pain during labour.

Would you recommend a epidural and how soon after can you get up and shower etc as i generally up and showered within a hour x
