How accurate are due date calculators?

Because I’m meant to be 5 and a half weeks, but I have felt sick, fuzzy and shattered for at least 2 weeks.

My period last month came a week early, but I’m still using the first date of that. Had a positive test a couple of days before my expected period and it was positive.

I just didn’t even notice being pregnant at the stage with my first and it’s worrying me a bit.

Honestly in my first pregnant I felt like that until I was about 12 weeks and then had nausea for the rest of it.
Feeling sick is a good thing I think.

From quite early on?

I’m overweight and older than with my first. Only 4 years, but still... I’m nowhere near as fit as I was.
I did have the best intentions of being very healthy, but it happened quicker than expected!

My original due date (based on last period) was 1st December. The 12 week scan updated this date to 10th December . Dd eventually arrived on 20th December after an induction, so 19 days late if we go by my original date! I think due dates are little more than a 'best guess ' really .

Stephisaur · 16/12/2018 20:23

My symptoms started literally the day I was due on my period.

The due date calculator thingies had me down for the 20th of December. My scan put my EDD as the 17th December, despite only being 1 day off my dates.

Little man came on the 12th of December at 39+2 :)

Hmm could be early nausea. I had it this time around 3 week mark then subsided for a couple of weeks until it started strongly again at 7 weeks.

On the other hand, you say your period came early - are you sure it was your period? In my first pregnancy I had implantation bleeding which I mistook for a period and so was further along than i originally thought.

Pretty sure the November one was a period, tried a test after as it was really painful, too early and full on. GP advised testing, but negative. We hadn’t been particularly careful, but weren’t trying.
Didn’t get the positive until 7th Dec (tries twice in between after the odd period).

Thanks for the responses, seems it’s mostly a guide then!

My first was due 16th Oct, then moved to 22nd October and arrived 2nd Nov! So I shouldn’t expect to be bang on I guess.

The midwife will calculate your due date as 9 months and 7 days from your lmp. Your 12 week scan will give you a more accurate date.

Redken24 · 16/12/2018 21:10

Honest from the day of the missed period I felt awful and nothing helped.

Shahlalala · 16/12/2018 21:14

Thanks Redken24, some solace in knowing I’m not alone.
