no judgement please
I'm 16 years old and I'm worried that I may be pregnant, I've always wanted children but not this early. My period was due on Thursday and I've been having morning sickness, my breasts feel painful and sore. There is a chance that I could be. Yesterday I had some sort of discharge In my pants and I thought that it was my period, but it went away and it was brown! This morning I've woke up and I think that my actual period has come, but the colouring is off.

Is this implantation bleeding, or just my period?

I'm a new user so I can't post the pictures ):

You need to do a test.

I've done a test, it's too early.

It’s not too early if your period was due Thursday-you would have a fairly definite positive at this stage if you were pregnant

It's only been 2 days since my period was due, isn't that too early? I've been googling stuff and apparently you need to wait until your hCG levels are detectable?

Take a test OP.

No, you need to take a test. Your period is late, it should show.

There’s lots of support on here. Plenty of people will be on hand to help. Strangers on the internet can be wonderful when you need a hand to hold.

HCG levels are detectable from the day of your missed period, even on cheap tests.

If you’ve had a negative test since Thursday, then I would put this down to being a weird period. You’re only 16, this happens from time to time :)

It might be worth reviewing your contraception though xx

Unsettled periods at 16 are normal. Your hormones are all over the place, but take the test again if worried.

SoyDora · 16/12/2018 11:41

It’s not too early. I got a positive test 6 days before my period was due. The vast majority of pregnant people will have detectable HCG levels the day of their missed period.

If your period is already due then it shouldn’t be too early for you to take a test. If the test is coming back negative (which I presume it is), you followed the instructions and you did it after your period was due, then you are very unlikely to be pregnant. If possible try not to worry, as this can cause a delay. Then if your period hasn’t arrived in another 3 days then test again.

As others have said, if you’re panicking you might want to reconsider your contraception, but obviously only you are aware of your circumstances Smile
