Feel Constanty unwell since being pregnant!

Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone is in the same boat as me?
I am 19+2 with my third pregnancy. With my first 2 pregnancies I had some dizziness and mild nausea in the first trimester, a cold or 2 in the second trimester and some anxiety/panic attacks and heartburn in the third trimester (I suffer with anxiety usually anyway, so this was no surprise). Other than those things, I would say I had pretty good and easy pregnancies. This time around I have felt extremely nauseous and dizzy the whole first trimester, since being in the second trimester I'm still getting dizzy/light headed at times, my ears are ringing (more than they normally do), I've had quite frequent headaches and some of them have been really bad. Last week I had some bad anxiety, then a tummy bug for 24 hours, I was just recovering from that and now I have what I would describe as the flu- my nose isn't runny or blocked, but I have a very sore throat, sore ears, aching limbs and my head feels awful!
I am just SO fed up, I feel like I have felt unwell/out of sorts for every single day since I found out I'm pregnant! I'm overweight, so was worried it would be high BP, but every time the midwife has checked it's been ok and I have a BP monitor at home and have checked a few times myself and it's ok. To begin with, I thought that maybe I was having a girl and that was why I felt so different (first two are boys), but we had a gender scan a couple of weeks ago and found out it's another boy! So I can't even blame the gender for a change in pregnancy symptoms. I just don't know what to do, if I said anything to the midwife she probably wouldn't care and would just blame it all on hormones?!! I just worry because I seem to constantly feel unwell!! Is anyone else feeling like this???!

If you are having panic attacks then go to see your GP and ask for a referral to the peri-natal mental health team.

As for getting ill and heart burn I’m afraid it’s part of pregnancy. Your baby is alien to your body and so your body does not rejected it is lowers your immune system so you are more likely to be ill and take longer to recover. Heart burn is caused by your stomach being squashed and your ligaments softening so acid is being squashed out and it is easier for it to get out of your stomach.

How are your iron levels? It could be that the dizziness is just a general pregnancy symptom, but it could be that your iron levels aren’t what they need to be. Doesn’t necessarily help any of the other symptoms, though! Are you also on top of your prenatal vitamins? Again, that probably won’t fix much, but it might make things slightly less bad...

I’ll offer some solidarity and sympathy - I’ve been ill with a cold/cough acquired from my toddler for 5 weeks now, feels like i’ve spent most of the 2nd trimester ill. GP finally decided it has morphed into a chest infection this week, so now hoping antibiotics help to shift it before Christmas and I come down with something else!

It is really tough and has made me feel a lot more fragile about this pregnancy generally. I’m only 25 weeks and have had to really slow down what I’m doing. Hope you start to feel better soon.

Totally feel for you I'm 17+2 and don't think there's been a day since getting pregnant that I haven't felt awful ! This is baby number 3 also I feel like I've been hit by a bus most days and it's just awful I've got pregnancy migraines along with sickness still that just won't shift ! Praying it gets better soon

My third pregnancy has been by far my toughest. No complications or anything serious, I’ve just felt unwell and uncomfortable throughout. I had severe sickness until 20 weeks... I’m now 39 weeks and it has started up again. I’m exhausted, dizzy, sick...
I think my body has just had enough!

@Jackshouse Hi, sorry I think you've misread my message, I had panic attacks and heartburn with my first pregnancy. I'm only talking about my current pregnancy, which is my third pregnancy. Thank you for your reply though x

@Spargle I hadn't thought about iron levels. At my booking in appointment she said that my iron levels were super high- like as high as a male body builder!- so I've kinda assumed that they must still be ok. But that might be something I need checking again? Thank you x

@gothicsprout Thank you. I've been trying to just relax and think "you're pregnant! Your body is going to struggle", but it's hard when it's the third pregnancy and the first two were so good. It makes me anxious and wonder why I feel so rough this time! X

@SoyDora @Lovewinemorethanhusband
Thank you. Third pregnancies seem to be really tough don't they?! I remember finding the first two relatively easy, so it's making me anxious as to why I feel so awful this time! My husband is being great and is putting the boys to bed most nights so that I can go to bed early etc. It's just so annoying feeling unwell all of the time. I've missed a panto trip with my youngest, a zoo trip with my eldest and quite a few plans with friends because I can just never guarantee that I'll feel well. I've got my 20 week scan on 28th, so I'm going to try to see the midwife there and tell them how awful I've felt x

3rd pregnancy here too and have felt rotten since finding out, now 17wks. Maybe it's a 3rd pregnancy thing? Hmmmm.

SSRainbow · 17/12/2018 20:15

Also 17 weeks with my third and I’m still waiting to stop feeling sick! First two I was absolutely fine by now, although I do remember it being 14-15 not 12 like all the websites say... here’s hoping we will start to feel better soon, I can’t cope with this for another five months 😫
