Hi ladies,

I'm spotting, on and off, at the moment but only when I wipe.

I've had 2 very good heartbeat checks and had a very successful scan today and baby is wiggling and happy.

I don't know what to do? I've got no pain or anything.

Any advice please?

I’ve had two bleeds like this at 12 and 13 weeks. Everything was fine.

Could you just have a sensitive cervix? I noticed my blood always followed after I had a big chunk of jelly like mucus (which I assumed was part of my plug which can reform)
I’d still get in touch with your EPU - they like to know about any bleeding. Hopefully they can reassure you too.

JustMe18 · 16/12/2018 08:56

@Iswallowtoothpaste I haven't done anything to aggravate it. Had no sex or vaginal exams. I'm taking aspirin and that can cause unnecessary bleeding doesn't it? Ugh. I'll call my local EPU to see what is going on.

Thank you xx

I just spoke to my local EPU and she assured me that pink is normal and not to worry.

I'll keep an eye on it and go from there.. I'll take it easy today x

I'm 17+3 and have had this on and off every couple of weeks throughout. Like you, no examinations or other irritations but usually happens if I've been very active the day before, and by "active" i just mean an amount of walking or shopping I would think nothing off before I was pregnant.
Used to make me incredibly anxious but so far everything is fine and just assume a sensitive cervix.

JustMe18 · 16/12/2018 10:22

@Floofsquidge That makes sense! I had a busy day, yesterday, then we had my husbands Christmas party so I hardly sat down!!

I had this a few times, exactly like that.

I have an entropic cervix. I always get it during pregnancy and it always causes spotting.
Get it checked but it could be totally fine.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 16/12/2018 11:14

I had never done anything to aggravate it either.

No sex or vaginal exams etc. However it would maybe follow a particularly busy day where I’d been rushing a round more than usual. I’m pleased that the EPU have reassured you.

Unless you’re having severe cramps and heavy bleeding I really wouldn’t panic. It’s very common and that part of bleeding isn’t as much of a cause for concern in the second trimester as it is in the first.

@Iswallowtoothpaste @Floofsquidge @TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter

Pregnancy is such a stressful time! Even tho EPU assured me I might go to my GP tomorrow morning too 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've just been to A&E because the colour got a bit darker. They don't seem fussed but didn't even examine me. Told me to stay off work and rest.

They don't tend to want to examine you at this stage, for a few reasons.

I would maybe take a day off and put your feet up.

The only reason I knew that I had an entropic cervix is because I went in when I was about 26 weeks pregnant.
It had happened at about 20 weeks as well but I hadn't bothered to tell them then.

If it gets heavier, like a bright red flow then call them again.

TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 16/12/2018 19:54

Also mine was totally linked to being constipated. The straining set off the cervix issues and caused the bleeding Blush

They kept asking if it was coming from my bum Hmm

I can tell the difference!

JustMe18 · 16/12/2018 22:00

@TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter Looking online, I'm thinking it could be a UTi. It seems to be like pink/red water more than a mucous consistency.

TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 16/12/2018 23:34

Would a UTI cause vaginal bleeding?
It never has for me.

JustMe18 · 17/12/2018 00:15

@TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter It's like the urine is red.. I'm clutching at straws

OP posts:
TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 17/12/2018 09:49

Could you wee in a pot and see if it's the urine?
Contact your GP today to do a urine analysis.
How has the bleeding need today?

JustMe18 · 17/12/2018 10:04

@TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter I'm seeing the GP at 10:30 so I'll go from there..

I'll keep you posted xx

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 17/12/2018 10:12

I understand your worried but please please do not go to A&E with this. It is neither an accident or an emergency.

JustMe18 · 17/12/2018 10:17

@ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay I went there yesterday on the instructions of the midwife 😟

How was gp appointment op?

JustMe18 · 17/12/2018 13:51

@Loyaultemelie She's fine, bouncing and kicking! They can't find the source of the bleed and my cervix looks fine.

TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 17/12/2018 14:28

JustMe18 · 17/12/2018 14:35
