Spotting at 9 weeks

I posted about this in a different thread but figured if I made a new one I'd get more replies, sorry if it's annoying.

So basically I'm 9+3 and I started spotting this afternoon and I never spotted in 9 weeks that I was pregnant. At first it was bright red with a small clot (sorry TMI) and after that every time I peed and wipes myself I kept spotting and now it's tuned in to a light bleeding. I was really worried and called EPU upon someone's suggestion from here. They said I need my gp's referral. And I just moved in this town from across the country. I don't a have gp yet. The lady who answered at EPU suggested we called out of hours and ask to see a gp. We did and got an appointment at 9.30pm. But it turned out it wasn't with a gp and he said he can't help me and need to see a gp on Monday and have us a letter for the gp so they would see on Monday.

Meanwhile he asked me to rest and if the bleeding gets worse, go to A&E. He said the scans don't determine if I'm having a miscarriage or not it just detects ectopic pregnancies. Is that really true.

I'm really disappointed I didn't get any help and I'm really stressed.

My sister suggested I go for a private scan tomorrow, I don't know what to do. Please advice

Sorry for the long post and sorry if I repeated myself and ignore any mistakes coz English isn't my first language

I just realised you can hear the baby's heartbeat in ultrasound! I've been misinformed by a medical staff!? I felt as if he was brushing it off and saying it's very common and shooed me off. I'm so naive😭I feel disgusted

This is a horrible situation you are in. I was I a similar situation, though I was 11 weeks pregnant at the time, unfortunately mine ended in miscarriage. A scan will detect a heartbeat so I think I would go for a private one if I was you, if you don't want to wait the weekend out. But if the bleeding is a sign of a miscarriage, there's nothing that can be done at 9 weeks, which is really upsetting. That's probably why the ooh told you they wouldn't give you a scan. I hope everything works out for you Thanks

This happened to me first pregnancy when I was around 7-8 weeks. It happened on a Saturday so I went to the walk in clinic at my local a & e. 5 hours later the doctor said I was having a 'suspected miscarriage' and put me on bedrest at home until the EPU could see me on the Tuesday. They gave me an early scan and found a heartbeat. I now have a happy 2 year old boy. It's horrible & so worrying, hope all works out well for you.

How did you get on OP?

farfromhome24 · 17/12/2018 10:14

@NotTodayHun thankfully the scan went well Grinbaby's all good with a heart beat and they couldn't see why I'd been spotting. Got to the see the baby for the first time, it was unreal Grinliterally so relieved and happy
