Best non alcoholic drinks??

I’m 6 months pregnant and spending Christmas with DP and his family. They’ll all be having a tipple or 3 so I was wanting to bring along a few bottles of non alcoholic wine so I’m able to “join” them.

Anyone any recommendations? Preferably a nice red that I can have with my dinner and a white or rose for afterwards?

I can't tell you any good ones I'm afraid but avoid the Tesco Eisberg red. It is foul!!! It smelt ok but tastes disgusting. I have had no morning sickness at all, but even the thought of it makes me feel queasy! However, that might just be my taste buds.

I've gone onto Shloer now. The red berry is lovely but might be a bit sweet depending on what you like!

Thanks @YorkieGirl18 😁

I actually really like sweet wines so I’ll grab some Shloer and give it a try. Smile

Not a fan of non alcoholic wine, but am a big fan of Welchs purple grape juice at the moment so will be stocking up on this for my christmas, and will have a cheeky glass of bubbles with christmas dinner

easielouisie · 14/12/2018 12:39

Yep! Shloer in a wine glass!

Katie1962 · 14/12/2018 12:41

Kopperberg!

Didyeeaye · 14/12/2018 12:43

Kopparberg has non alcoholic berry flavour and strawberry and lime flavour. I drink them a lot when I'm the designated driver and don't notice any difference in taste to the alcoholic equivalent x

WhyDontYouComeOnOver · 14/12/2018 12:46

Shloer is nice but I love elderflower cordial with some lemonade and ice.

randomsabreuse · 14/12/2018 12:49

Belvoir winter spice punch is nice. Quite like the Nosecco type things and white Eisberg was quite enjoyable too.

Swannykazoo · 14/12/2018 12:49

Aldi have a perfectly ok no alcohol fizz called zero point zero I think - had some for my oncall weekend, nicer than shloer, more elderflowery

Maybenexttime08 · 14/12/2018 12:56

I love Elderflower cordial with tonic water

YorkieGirl18 · 14/12/2018 13:25

Do they have aspartame in the Kopparberg? They put it in quite a few of the fruit ciders and it gives me a migraine. If not that sounds lovely!!!

Unicornandbows · 14/12/2018 14:20

Shloerrrrrrr i put it in a wine glass to make it that extra bit special

Bannsshhee · 14/12/2018 14:22

I’ve heard the kopperberg is good and like the alcoholic version. Tried the nosecco and wasn’t too keen. Would love a nice red to drink with dinner.

The joys of being preggy at Christmas Smile

Seedlip non alcoholic gin is very good. They have three varieties. I went to a tasting and cocktail making session recently and was very surprised how good it is.

Scallywag1903 · 14/12/2018 15:04

OOh I was going to say Seedlip! Pricy but great. I have both the botanic and spicy ones. They are like a non alcoholic gin ( I was off alcohol for over 2 years sob) and this was great. Add masses of ice, fevertree tonic, and you feel like you are drinking an adult drink. And its calorie free! Win Win !!!or I drink lime and soda

5tarlight · 14/12/2018 17:25

I find schloer way too sweet to drink in place of an alcoholic drink. May as well have an appletise or coke or whatever. Seedlip and tonic is lovely. As a prosecco substitute I liked Bees nees rose (sold in Morrisons etc), felt like a grown up drinking it after weeks of soft drinks! Will also be trying their non rose version and the zero.zero Aldi fizz as well over xmas. A lot of the non alcoholic beers are v chemically tasting, still search for one I can bear to drink the whole thing!
Re red wine, I have tried a non alcoholic one once, with v low expectations and it was the most disgusting thing ever. I don't think it is worth even trying any of them, so sweet as the sugar has not fermented. I would just have a small glass of the real thing with your Xmas lunch instead 🙂

Anyat212 · 14/12/2018 18:16

I vouch for Kopparberg too preferably the strawberry and lime version, I don’t mind the non alcoholic becks larger either. Which is strange considering I usually hate becks Xmas Hmm

I’m looking forward to a small glass of Prosecco with my Christmas dinner though! Smile

GemmeFatale · 14/12/2018 18:34

Beer wise I like Heineken, ghost ship, Nanny state and warsteiner fresh.

I’m yet to find a wine that isn’t terrible. The aldi fizz is on my must try list

highlandteajenny · 14/12/2018 18:36

I had something called Qcumber in a restaurant last year but I've seen it sincethen in the supermarket. It's essentially cucumber flavoured sparkling water but over ice with a slice of cucumber and maybe a sprig of mint then it feels like a Hendricks gin and tonic! I'm 24 weeks pregnant and this is what I'm planning on having over Christmas.

Rainycloudyday · 14/12/2018 18:39

Definitely seedlip with tonic and a wedge of lime!

hailstone1 · 14/12/2018 19:14

Lidl's freeway version of shloer rosè is quite nice. I don't think it's quite as sweet as shloer so I prefer it.

jq28 · 15/12/2018 10:03

The Berry koppaberg tastes identical to the alcoholic version. One to avoid is marks and Spencer's zero alcohol moscato.
