My AF was due 2 days ago and not appeared. Tested yesterday BFN,
Am I testing to early. As never late?

You need to test with your first wee of the morning.

I do, but as I get up once if not twice a night, not sure it will make much difference

What tests are you using? Maybe the a First Response which will pick up hormones earlier than others.
