Eeeeek, I had to post!
I’m 40+4 and woke up at 4am feeling fairly damp and realised my waters had gone! Started with mild contractions not long after I waddled to the loo to check I hadn’t just wet myself! Grin
Called the birth centre and they told me to come in to be monitored. They confirmed my waters had gone and monitored babies heart rate. All was good so they sent me home.
Currently happily bouncing away on my ball, waiting for more to happen!
So excited to meet our baby girl!

Good luck for a quick and easy birth

MissDai5y · 12/12/2018 08:02

Congratulations!

If you haven't, maybe download a contraction tracking app. It's good to keep track but I also found it helpful to see the ebb and flow of them to help me handle the pain.

Alfiedoo87 · 12/12/2018 08:12

My husbands on it! He’s sat watching me with his finger over his phone!
Just had a nice shower and washed my hair, I knew I should have done it yesterday! Haha!

Bin85 · 12/12/2018 09:37

Good luck from me too

Buddywoo · 12/12/2018 10:45

Brilliant - please let us know when it's over how it went.

m4rdybum · 12/12/2018 17:41

Following this thread- cause you can't beat a live birth thread Grin

Bunnymumma · 12/12/2018 17:44

Yay! Fingers crossed for an easy time of things!

MincePieMum · 12/12/2018 18:16

Gosh! I always feel like I missed out a bit on this. I went in to labour so quickly I didn't get the chance to be excited/apprehensive/use the TENs machine I bought. 0-8 in 45 mins. All over within the hour.

Best of luck! Try getting some sleep in as once the baby is born you may find adrenaline keeps you awake for about 36hrs!!!

Bobbiepin · 12/12/2018 18:20

Live birth threads are my favourite. Good luck! Eat and sleep as much as you can now.

Gobletoffire · 12/12/2018 19:14

Good luck OP! X

Armygirl · 12/12/2018 20:06

Ooh how exciting. I hope you’re ok xx

KatnissMellark · 12/12/2018 20:48

Hopefully you're holding a baby by now!

Yakadee · 12/12/2018 20:50

Good luck! Xx

snoopy18 · 12/12/2018 21:39

Good luck!

So sorry for the lack of posts but there was no time whatsoever!
I came home from being monitored around 07.30 and then contractions ramped up so went back into hospital at 10.30. They examined me and I was already 7cm after only 2 paracetamol.
After a few more contractions I felt like I needed to push and the midwives panicked as I was fully dilated and baby’s head was coming.
Elouise Grace was born at 13.32 at 8lb9oz with nothing but gas and air and 2 paracetamol (totally not planned to be that way I might add, I was going for allllll the drugs!)
She’s very mucusy with it being a fast birth as she wasn’t in the birth canal long enough to push the music out so we are having a little trouble feeding. We’re also staying in overnight to check her glucose levels due to my GD but she has had 2 normal readings so doesn’t need them to be checked anymore so will hopefully be home tomorrow morning.

Everyone keeps saying what an amazing birth it was but I’m just so glad to be holding my little girl in my arms. Thank you for all the kind messages.
Totally in love!

Congratulations Alfie hope you're both home soon enjoying the newborn haze Flowers Cake

Bobbiepin · 12/12/2018 22:55

Oh bless you! Welcome little Elouise Grace.

FWIW I had a similar experience with a fast birth and mucusy baby and found hand expressing and syringe feeding worked really well when she was too full of gunk to want to attempt feeding. Keep trying to latch (if you're bf) but don't get disheartened if it takes time. A few days to let it pass through her and it'll get easier.

TruckLoadOfSubtleGlitter · 12/12/2018 22:57

She wasn't in the birth canal long enough to push all the music out.

That's such a poetic typo, I love it!

Congratulations, enjoy your newborn snuggles.

Rachie1986 · 12/12/2018 23:00

Wow very quick! Well done you!

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 12/12/2018 23:04

Congratulations!! I came here for a live birth thread but you were too quick!

Enjoy those precious cuddles op. Well done!

Alfiedoo87 · 12/12/2018 23:08

@bobbypin that’s what I’ve been doing so it’s reassuring to hear it worked well for someone else!

@truckload haha it’s very true! Grin music or mucus! Haha!

Congratulations on your new bundle of joy 👶🏻 🍼 beautiful name 💜🎀
Sounds a lot like my birth which wasn't fun. 2 co-codamol and that was my lot. Ripped from earhole to a**ehole.
Got me concerned about my next birth in April

m4rdybum · 13/12/2018 17:42

Congrats OP. Can't wait to have my own new born snuggles Grin

Ripped from earhole to aehole.

I want to apologise for ugly hyena laughing at that. I'm chalking it up to labour nerves!
