Wondering if anyone has used Clary sage to help kick start labour? I've been having braxton hicks for the past few weeks and I'll supposedly be 38 weeks on Thursday but I've been convinced this whole pregnancy I'm actually further ahead... I've been rubbing diluted clary sage oil into my bump as often as I can and bathing in it, and putting it in a diffuser next to my bed every night but nothing really seems to be happening.. BH get slightly stronger and baby moves loads but that's all x

I am 40w5d and have been rubbing clary sage oil on my bump daily, having it in baths and sniffing it since 38w. It has done bugger all to get this baby moving sadly. Sorry, probably not what you want to hear!

My hope is that it is more useful during actual labour to strengthen the contractions rather than encouraging labour to start. Either way, good luck for the next few weeks!

Stick it on a tissue and breathe it in? Do your due diligence though. It worked for me haha

I spoke with MW about it and she suggested against it as it acts in the same way as synthetic oxytocin, stimulating contractions but not actually bringing on the happy hormones needed to induce labour. Suggested instead focusing on things that cause oxytocin production x

I tried it with my last baby, bathed in it and rubbed on bump, she was 4 days late ! To be fair it was one of the last things I tried and later on so I hadn't been using it for weeks like the others above ^^

With my first baby , my waters went unexpected (a few days early) while I was sitting eating nandos hot sauce ! My mouth was on fire, hate spicy food. With my second , that didn't work lol. my contractions started while I was out walking , apparently lots of walking is supposed to help ? But who knows , I was overdue so could have been coincidence
