Placenta Previa

I'm 17 and 5 with dc2 and considered a high risk pregnancy as ds arrived at 29 weeks for unknown reasons so getting lots of scans and having loads of appointments. So far pregnancy has been very similar to last time; awful sickness until a couple of weeks ago.
Yesterday I had a scan which was meant to look at baby's brain (ds had a brain condition) but, while baby looks fine, the doctor said my placenta is lying really low. She said it was placenta previa and, while often the placenta moves out the way later on, in my case it looks unlikely, although she didnt say why.
I have been reading up on placenta previa and to be honest I'm scared. The idea of another prem baby is terrifying, the bleeding is scary and the potential long stays in hospital are intimidating. I know it might not go that way but after last time I'm feeling anxious.
I have a consultant appointment on friday; what should I ask? Anyone had this before?

Yes I had this with DC2. I'm not going to lie, it was a bit of a mentally stressful pregnancy with quite a few bleeds and hospital stays. I wasn't in any pain but far more paranoid than with DC 1 about feeling the baby kick etc. Had an early planned c-section after a big bleed in the end. All was well in the end really and most of it was worry rather than anything serious actually happening. I think just try to stay calm and vigilant and keep a little bag prepped for hospital stays. Actually most of my hospital stays were a blessed relief where i got an enforced break from work and DC1 :). I should have taken advantage more.

I had previa and percreta in second pregnancy. Stop reading about it - any pregnancy can be a horror story. We got nearly to term with a plannned section and it was 100 times better than my first premature pregnancy. It was an emotional rollercoaster, but looking back now it was fine. Not perfect, but fine.
