Pregnancy symptoms same as mmc

I had mmc a few months ago and now pregnant again.

My symptoms are the same as when I was pregnant and had mmc but different to when I had successful pregnancy.

Anyone had mmc and had same symptoms but gone on to have successful pregnancy?

What sort of symptoms are you having? Every pregnancy is a bit different, so it's not out of the realms of possibility that what you are experiencing in this pregnancy would be different from any other. I'm currently on my 2nd (so far successful) pregnancy out of 7 and my symptoms are definitely different to my initial successful pregnancy, and some are similar, some are different to my unsuccessful ones.

Thanks for replying. Just nausea really, I didn't have any with my son but now this pregnancy and the one that ended I had nausea. Just worried it will end same as last time

I have an awful lot of nausea this time around, actually being sick as well and I didn't really have anything noticeable with my first.

It's obviously really worrying, especially the waiting and wondering, but nothing you do will change the course of the pregnancy :( you could ask the MW if they would do an earlier scan to give you peace of mind, some would, some would expect you to go private, but definitely worth a try.

There are a few threads about for pregnancy after MC, and they're super supportive and helpful, so you might find some reassurance in one of those, and probably some much better advice!

The thing with a mmc is that your body doesn't realise that the baby has stopped developing, so it carries on releasing pregnancy hormones. So you carry on having pregnancy symptoms. Sadly that's no reassurance! If you have anything that may indicate a problem you might be able to get a referral to Early Pregnancy Unit for an early scan. Pains, bleeding etc. Or hang tight; which is awful, I know !

I had 2x mc and 1x mmc before my first was born. Then another mmc. But am now in my third trimester with number 2. But I'm unusual!

There's no reason why your current pregnancy won't end successfully. Good luck!

Thank you both. I have an early scan but not until the 3rd January which is 3 weeks and 2 days away! Fingers crossed

Oh, that is a long wait! How far along are you? If you're 6 weeks+ you could look at a private reassurance scan. Lots of companies offer them.

I checked out my local private company and they only do early scan from 8 weeks and my appointment will be only a few days after that so no point!

That's frustrating. My local ish one is from 6 weeks (Ultrasound Direct).

I had two MMC last year. With the first one I had zero symptoms really but I didn’t find that concerning because I had no symptoms with my two DD’s either. With the second one I had nausea all day every day along with many other classic symptoms, same as I did with my DS. Then had a successful pregnancy this year that mirrored the second MMC in terms of symptoms.

Every pregnancy is different so symptoms sadly are no real indicator. The only thing I would worry about is them suddenly disappearing before 10ish weeks when the placenta takes over. My symptoms didn’t fully disappear but they drastically improved at week 9 which it transpired was the week I’d miscarried.

Thanks! I never knew about mmc before and now I keep reading about those who had multiple mmc! I'll just wait and see like you said and nothing I can do anyway
