Did anyone have their 12 week scan early?

Hi all. Interested to know if anyone here has had their 12 week scan early, perhaps because you ovulated late.

My scan is a week today, but because I didn't ovulate till day 22, I'll only be 11 weeks. The scan was booked based on my LMP and my midwife said that's ok, just they might need to scan again, but I'm worried about how that will work. Might they be worried about the size of the foetus for 12 weeks. Basically, worried about having an anxious Christmas as I doubt we'd get another appointment before Christmas.

I assume this must happen a fair bit so any reassuring stories would be appreciated!

Thanks

They tried to scan me at 9+4, but scanned me at 11+4 in the end.

It was fine. They managed to measure baby but he wouldn’t stay still for them to do the NF, so I had the quad blood test instead.

They only had me at 1 day different to my own dates, so quite accurate measurement wise :)

Yep, I ovulated on CD33 so was dated almost 2 weeks further along based on LMP than what I actually was. Mentioned this to the sonographer when we went in who said she’d check, immediately found baby and a strong heartbeat, did a measurement that matched up to what we thought we actually were (10+5) and she rearranged another scan for 2 weeks later. There was no concern as I knew I’d ovulated late and baby had a good heartbeat so even though she was smaller than what they’d expected it matched to what I was saying. I’m fairly sure the “12” week scan can be done anytime between 11 and 13 weeks so if you’re 11+ still they should be able to do the scan as usual and date you correctly. Good luck :)
