Anyone else here pregnant with Endo?

Morning ladies,

Just wondering if there's any other endometriosis sufferers here currently pregnant?

I don't have extensive endo but it is something I've suffered with for the last 8 years. My main problems being abdominal pain and lower back pain.

I'm finding my second pregnancy much harder. I'm tired all the time and feeling sick - but my main issue is that at 16 weeks, I'm in pain. My back is very sore and I get pains in the front of my tummy.

My initial scan picked up two fibroids but my midwife didn't know whether this would be the cause of the the tummy pain.

So... I guess my question is... if you're an endo sufferer, are you finding pregnancy painful or is it making no difference to you? Just something I am interested to know really.

Hi Hun @Canders
I was diagnosed with endo in September in/on my Bowel and pouch of Douglas. Didn't have any excision done.
Just found out I'm actually now 5 weeks exactly today.
I can't help with your queries as all very new to me but didn't want to read and run. Hope you soon feel better xxx

Hi! I'm 12+4 with endo. My endo has certainly be easier to cope with over the last 12 weeks as before pregnancy it hurt every day. Mine is on my ligaments and POD. Around 8 - 9 weeks I could feel a lot of stretching and the familiar endo pain came on where it is probably being stretched too. I can also feel it on my ligaments on some days.
I've been able to feel much more of the early pregnancy stuff than a lot of people I know because of it. Where it is in my ligaments can ache in the mornings but not bad when I get moving.

But on the whole it's amazing to feel almost normal, for the first time in 2 years (minus the sickness!)

Oh and I've also bad a sore back - baths and hot water bottles have helped.

canonlyhopexo · 11/12/2018 15:48

@gimmeadoughnut123 I've had backache too but think this is more to do with sitting all day at work rather than anything else although any little twinge makes me nervous!! Congratulations on your pregnancy I really hope I make it as far along as you it seems to be takes ages but not going to wish this special time away x

gimmeadoughnut123 · 12/12/2018 11:56

@canonlyhopexo it'll fly by. I spent weeks being anxious and worried about things going wrong and can't believe my 12w scan is tomorrow. Just hoping everything is ok at the scan. Good luck to you!! I'll update tomorrow if you like

I got laser treatment for my endo in summer 2017 (my endo wasn't extensive though, just some). The treatment itself made no difference to my pains. We started trying for a baby in November that year, got pregnant straight away but had an early miscarriage. Now I'm 35 weeks with my second pregnancy, and barely have had any of the usual pains! I wish this continues after as well...

I’m 32 weeks with my second pregnancy. In general I really dislike being pregnant but the one huge benefit is not having horrific pelvic pain and no periods. I had forgotten what it was like to be pain free. Planning my hysterectomy once this one is born.

canonlyhopexo · 12/12/2018 19:01

Thank you @gimmeadoughnut123 let me know how you get on tomorrow I'm sure everything will be fine.

@Kay1341 I haven't had any treatment for my endo. Just a lap in September to diagnose and then I fell pregnant in November. I'm 5+1 week today. Very very nervous something will go wrong but have a midwife appointment tomorrow so will discuss all my concerns then. Sorry to hear you miscarried your first pregnancy. Won't be long until your beautiful babe is here.

@welshweasel I've had a few tweaks and bit of pain off and on but nothing major. I have considered having hysterectomy after I've had children but don't have enough info yet.

Hi, not pregnant yet but planning and have endo, so just following :)

MrsIz · 12/12/2018 21:47

I am 17+4 and have had endo diagnosed for years. Had laser in my early 20s but was advised not to have anything when trying for a baby. So had endo on my ligaments, pod and some other odd places!

I would Defo say that I have had period like cramps on and off throughout but less painful then day one of a period - more like just before starting if that makes sense. I always get those pains mainly in my back. No bleeding though. Lots of round ligament pain and massively bloated. The main problem is the anxiety it gives me.

Congratulations and all the best with the rest of your pregnancy!

Lovely to hear from everyone... glad I'm not the only one :)

I think I'll just have to cut myself some slack and look after myself a little bit more for a change.
