I'm 18+2 and I really feel as though my belly just isn't changing or showing any signs of popping out anytime soon!

If you looked at me you definitely wouldn't think I was pregnant.

My belly feels very flabby and I'm at that point where I just look like I've put on so much weight.

This is my first baby (second pregnancy) and I really just want to hear everyone else's experiences!

It will pop out. I was still flat as a board when I was 20 weeks then 30 weeks onwards it was coming out of nowhere! Are you tall? If you're tall, you'll probably take longer to show and appear smaller.

clouise2018 · 10/12/2018 18:40

I'm actually really small - 5ft 1 I think!

I feel like I'm being so paranoid, I've had loss of symptoms now for about a week or 2 which apparently is normal in the second trimester?

I think when you're not throwing up or being sick every 10 minutes you become paranoid that something is wrong :(

I'm trying to hold out until my 20 week scan which is the 19th, I just want to see bub and know that everything is okay..

My symptoms disappeared after 12 weeks, then it came back with a vengeance around 32 weeks! I'm only small as well (4'11"). Try not to worry yet! I'm sure everything is fine! If you're really worried, book a private scan?

clouise2018 · 10/12/2018 18:46

Money is tight at the moment so not really looking to get a private scan or I totally would.

I think I can hold out another 9 days until my 20 weeks.

It's difficult with your first as you really don't know what to expect at all or anything to compare it to!

I just look like I’ve just had a large dinner. I’m around 19 weeks and eager for the bump to show up. All my mum friends had their lovely little bumps by the 20 week mark so feel ever so slightly like I’m a fraud.

I think we can just be thankful that we don’t have to get the frumpy maternity clothes out just yet.

Lauren83 · 10/12/2018 19:10

I was told by people constantly my bump was tiny and I was really paranoid all the way through, as it turned out I ended up being induced early as he was big and he was 8.12lb at 38.4

WhatALearningCurve · 10/12/2018 19:16

I'm 27 weeks tomorrow with my first pregnancy. At 22 weeks I was in hospital for a week with appendicitis. In terms of appearances - I went into hospital not pregnant, and left pregnant. Honestly - it happens out of nowhere. I swear I've visibly grown over the weekend as well

clouise2018 · 10/12/2018 19:22

Yes I guess that's a positive, I'm not in any maternity clothes yet!

@clouise2018 hey lovely, I'm 20 weeks today with my first and still look as slim as I did before. I'm 5 ft 2 and wear 8/10 clothes so quite small. People are still shocked when I tell them I'm half way through, hoping she will pop out soon! 😂💗

BumbleeBeeMe · 10/12/2018 19:26

I literally didn't have a bump at all!
I had a cesarean at almost exactly 40 weeks and the nurse asked if I was in for my first scan! I apparently looked less than 20 weeks at the end. Some people just don't show that much especially with your first Smile

MalmR · 10/12/2018 19:30

Don’t worry. I didn’t start really showing until I was about 27 weeks. Hardly anyone would know I was pregnant. Once I got to 30 weeks there was no hiding it. Now at 37 weeks I’m massive. Haha Also I’m 5’6”.

JehovahsMistresses · 10/12/2018 19:40

I got my first hint of a bump when I was 30 weeks. And you could only see it if I lead down. At 35 weeks I looked bloated, like I'd just eaten a big bowl of pasta. 37 weeks you could actually tell I was pregnant but I did not look like I could give birth at any time, I looked like I was just sticking my belly out. Baby was born 2 weeks later and a very good weight. He is always bigger than he should be and regularly gets mistaken for being a year older than he is. I don't have a clue what happened but I can guarantee if I get pregnant again I'll balloon as soon as I conceive Grin

clouise2018 · 10/12/2018 19:55

Thank you everyday!!

I feel a bit more reassured now, I'll be sure to update with a pic when bump pops..

It’s my first pregnancy and I’m not showing yet at 18 weeks. People tell me I’m
Joking when I tell them I’m pregnsnt. Enjoy and don’t compare yourself to anyone! I have no symptoms either but guess they’ll
Come so enjoying it while I can! Xx

Pigeoncat · 11/12/2018 08:28

I never had a big bump! I always just looked a bit fat :(

mortifiedmama · 11/12/2018 13:05

I was in normal clothes until 28 weeks, barely looked pregnant before that. now I look and feel huge at 32 weeks!

TerriB84 · 11/12/2018 13:35

It really is different for everyone. With my first I had a definite noticeable bump before 12 weeks! We didn’t tell people until after the 12 week scan but a few had guessed anyway because of this. I measured big throughout my pregnancy and got used to hearing ‘are you sure it’s not twins’ and ‘you must be nearly due’ when I still had 3 months to go. I was all bump though as from the back you couldn’t tell I was pregnant. Currently 6w pregnant with number 2 and there’s not a chance of keeping it secret until 12 weeks!
