Please bare with me....
I fell pregnant on the 22nd September 2018. Unfortunately due to complications, I needed to have a medical termination. I had the termination on the 22nd October, and felt the pregnancy pass. I done a pregnancy test 5 weeks later and saw it was still positive. I got sent for a scan and was told I had a large amount of pregnancy tissue stuck, so I had to have a second lot of pills on the 19th October.
A week later i was out with friends and felt like I’d wet myself.. I went to the toilet and started having golf ball sized clots! I got home and I started to loose too much blood so an ambulance was called. When I got to the hospital I collapsed as I had a large clot stuck on my cervix which pressed against all my nerves. They got it out just in time before something dangerous happend. My blood count went from 130 (normal blood count) to 119 in a matter of two hours.. I thought that was the end of it all.
I was due to have surgery to remove a large polyp and biopsy on the 28th November. I went to the hospital, got changed in my gown and went down to the ward to get ‘knocked out’. A doctor came running down and said ‘stop, she’s pregnant’!! I cried and said I’m not it’s impossible! They took me for a scan and saw the SAME pregnancy tissue was still stuck! I was sent away and told to go to a different hospital the next day for my surgery as they didn’t have the license to perform the surgery.
The day of my surgery, they added a D&C to the list and also the fitting of the marina coil. I had my surgery and they removed all tissue as well as my polyp and fitted the coil. Now here’s my problem...
The NHS website shows the merina coil of effected straight away if you are on your period when you have it fitted.. but I wasn’t. Yes I was bleeding but that was from my previous tablets and the fact I still had a positive pregnancy test it wasn’t ‘period blood’ sorry for tmi. I had sex Friday and yesterday and I’m worried that my coil isn’t effective yet (as it says use contraceptives for 7 days if you have not had it fitted on your period) . I didn’t know this yesterday that’s why I’m panicking!!
