Can anyone reassure me that it is fine to suddenly not feel nauseous?

Having felt queasy for the last week and a half pretty much constantly, I haven't since my after lunch nap, which is making me nervous. Can anyone reassure? My breasts aren't feeling as sore either. Don't want to panic.
(am nearly eight weeks)

Hi BellaBear,

DOn't panic - not everyone gets morning sickness or feels nauseous when they are pregnant. It is different for everyone (and for each pregnancy).
With my first I was sick from day one until about 13 weeks, with my second I wasn't sick at all until around 14 weeks, when I puked daily until about 18 weeks. Totally different each time! My sister wasn't sick once and felt fine for her whole pregnancy
I'm sure you are absolutely fine. Just enjoy not feeling sick!

BellaBear · 24/06/2007 19:01

Thanks. It is just that it has stopped very suddenly, that is why I am worrying a bit. Thanks for getting back to me.

I must be one of the 'lucky' ones.
I only felt slight nausea from the beginning, i am 13 wks tomorrow. But i have been told it can stqart at anytime too. Roll on 31/12/07!

Bella, I started feeling sick at 4 weeks, am now 8.5 weeks. On Wed & Thu last week I felt suddenly fine, and wasted it panicking. Sickness & exhaustion returned with a vengeance on Friday. Enjoy your break!

BellaBear · 24/06/2007 19:09

yes!

Has anyone had any experience of nausea starting and then stopping?

I felt very nauseaus from about 5 weeks and then when i was 11 weeks i met my mate for lunch and was telling her how sick i felt all the time. The next day i felt right as rain and my boobs weren't half as achey and sore as they had been. It stopped very suddenly and now i feel great!!

Bella - do not panic - it's quite normal for pg symptoms to come and go ...

BellaBear · 24/06/2007 19:31

thanks! AM calming down. a bit!

Don't worry! I had severe hyperemesis at the beginning which involved constant nausea (inbetween actually being sick). Then suddenly at about 12 weeks, I was just nauseaus but not being sick, then suddenly at about 14 weeks it stopped altogether! I still had bad days after that but it really can come and go. I think it depends on your hormones etc...

fettleandminifettle · 24/06/2007 19:35

Bella - I found I suddenly felt much better around 8-10 weeks with this pg. Someone once told me, it's around this time that the placenta really kicks in, which can make a difference to your symptoms (no idea if that is true, though!).

I went through phases of boobs not hurting too, so I put back on my slightly too small, underwired bra and when I took it off at night, the accompaning pain was very reassuring again! Must be a bit of a masochist.

With my 1st mc at 9wks, my symptoms continued way past the time the baby died, so loss of symptoms, doesn't always mean loss of baby and vice versa.

Try not to worry, when are you due another scan?

Take care
xxx

BellaBear · 24/06/2007 19:37

oh, you are all fantastic, thanks.
scan not until 26th july (and private at that - watford general doesn't do 12 week scans so GP advised clinic) but because of mc am finding hard to relax about it all.

i think placenta doesn't take over until 12 weeks though

Bellabear - If I were you, I would phone my GP or midwife or EPU and explain your worries.

BellaBear · 24/06/2007 19:44

really? right. maybe tomorrow? (Wouldn't know where to call on a sunday anyway!)

belgo · 24/06/2007 19:47

Mine keeps comming and going. It is worrying when it stops and when it restarts I'm happy for about 2 minutes that it has returned!

Bouncingturtle · 24/06/2007 20:23

Bella - mine stopped suddenly at 9 weeks, then came back with a vengeance at 11 weeks. I wouldn't worry too much about, mine comes and goes, just when I think I've seen the back of it, mad dash to the loo again...

lizziemun · 24/06/2007 20:31

With both my pregnancies i didn't even know i was at 8 weeks, only tested because dh insisted.

I had no symtons apart from tiredness with my 1st pregnancy. With my second morning sickness (read all day) didn't start untill i was about 10 weeks and still hasn't completely gone (now 30 weeks).

Uki · 25/06/2007 01:12

hi bella
Hope your feeling better/sicker even ?

i've never had any m/s and on my 5th pg now, I had a v. little quesyness but was later than 8 weeks, normally when tired/hungry. Also boobs stoped getting sore, but did continue to grow.

When are you having a scan?

SofiaAmes · 25/06/2007 06:09

Perfectly normal. Just consider yourself lucky that it went that early. I threw up 5 times a day for the first 4 months of both my pregnancies. With my first the nausea went literally overnight. With the second it never really went away. And the breast were sore for the whole pregnancy and year of breastfeeding.

BellaBear · 25/06/2007 07:36

Well, I don't feel 100% this morning, but I think I might be putting it on! Had a horrible mc dream as well.

Thanks everyone, your posts really have been reassurring. I don't think I'll ring the GP just yet, see how it goes today.
