Breech baby - C Section

Hi everyone,

Just after a bit of advice. I'm now 38+3 and booked in for a c section next week due to baby being breech. He has been this way all the way through my pregnancy and consultant said he wouldn't attempt the ECV as baby is too big and not enough room.

I've got my head around all of this, I'm fine with it and counting down the days to meet my baby.

Does anyone know what would happen if he turned by himself between now and the section date? I really want it to go ahead now after psychologically preparing myself and I'd be so disappointed of it was cancelled on the day.

If he does turn, can I still request that the c section goes ahead?

Thanks xx

Yes you can! I asked the same thing. I had a scan to check position when I was literally lying on the operating table. I asked what would happen as I had got my head around having a baby in literally a matter of minutes. They told me even at that late stage if it had turned. they would tell me I could go home and wait for natural labour but that I could certainly say I wanted to go ahead with the c section.

Thank you for your response, this is very reassuring. I hope that if is the case then it can go ahead. I'm so excited now! Xx
