Hiya, I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks and now I'm 12 weeks (13 Monday). I've got my first scan Friday. I'm really nervous and would just like some reassurance.
This is my first ever pregnancy and it was an accident. A very happy accident, me and my partner are really excited. I'm just so nervous I'm going to get bad news at the scan and my whole world will fall apart. I don't know how I'll take it if I was given bad news. I'm really scared

We’ve all felt like that Flowers

It’s a very confusing time, emotionally. Do you have anyone you can take with you to the scan?

I’m sure everything will be fine but you might be waiting around for a bit beforehand so it would be good to have company x

Hi,
I had my first scan last week. I was terrified. As soon as she played the heartbeat a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Definitely have someone with you, the lady doing my scan was so nice and made me feel so relaxed. Try not to worry too much x you've made it this far with no complications I'm sure you'll be fine xx

@MissFloof congratulations! Flowers

I was the same, don’t worry you’ll be fine. It was such an emotional experience when we seen the screen for the first time - I remember thinking what’s happens if I go in and I’m not actually pregnant! But she was wriggling away, ironic really considering I was so Ill with no energy. If you’ve had no complications so far I’m sure you’ll be fine but it’s completely normal to think something will go wrong. It’s a natural feeling but try not to work yourself up about it.

I’m now 22 weeks and although I’ve had a rough time with sickness, nausea and every other pregnancy symptom in the book. I’m feeling slightly more normal.

thank you everyone for your kind words. I have my partner (baby daddy) coming to the scan with me. He is excited and seems very confident that everything will be okay. I wish I felt the same. Anxious and excited for friday

Congratulations! It's great that you aren't going to be alone!

I can tel you that I was the exact same. I had a bleed (although quite small) at 5 weeks (found out at about 3 weeks!) And I was terrified. I didn't eat or sleep until the 12 week scan.

Needless to say, I now have a very happy and healthy girl and she is 11 months old. Absolutely normal to worry OP! Good luck and please post back so we know all's ok! Thanks
