This is my second pregnancy, just back from the midwife and she said that baby's head is fully engaged. Was just to know if this happened to anyone else and how soon did labour start afterwards??

It just means the head is snugly down in your pelvis. it doesn't really mean anything - with your 2nd child the head can be engaged and then float back up again , since your pelvic muscles are less strong than they were with your 1st baby. Some babies float in and out of the pelvis for weeks before the birth .

There isn't any time frame with engagement. The head does press on the cervix which encourages the cervix to start dilating, but once again, with 2nd babies that can happen at any stage and isn't a good indicator that labour will happen soon. Best wishes !

Thanks for the info 😊 I'm confused though, my midwife said that was him fully in and he wouldn't be able to come back out or turn around. He was back to back up until now and I was really worried about him staying that way for labour as that happened with my first pregnancy and was a horrendously long labour. Xx
