My employer has just advertised a new role that suits me perfectly and they are encouraging me to apply. I’m 11 weeks and don’t plan to make any announcements until January. Would you still apply for the role knowing you’ll be on mat leave by summer? How would you handle the news? I assume interviews will be early Jan. I don’t know whether to let the job pass to avoid annoying people or just to brazen it out and tell them if they offer it to me. Eek. Help!

If they offer you the role and then you tell them, I'm 99.9% sure it's illegal to retract the offer on the basses that your pregnant.

Also, read "lean in" - if this is part of your career plan then don't let it go now before you've even had a baby, go for it and if you get it have an open conversation about it....

Go for it!
I interviewed for a new role with my employer when I was 6 months pregnant. I start the new job one week before I go on leave :)
